  • Knock them through and fill the gaps? Not ideal but what I've had to do in the past :(

Is this the type that grip the plasterboard, with a ring of metal lugs showing round the hole that the screw goes into?

If so, unscrew the screw almost completely, then knock it back in with a hammer. This will usually break the bit in behind away allowing you to remove the front bit.

If that doesn't work, try levering the lugs up till they break off. This will damage the wall more, so do it carefully.

The amount of damage you will have to repair will depend on the strength of your plasterboard.

    Are they not plasterboard plugs?

If so, they screw back out using a philips screwdriver in the centre of the plug.

Thank you......yes metal lugs showing around the hole....tried to get a screwdriver in the hole to see if i could unscrew it but no luck, cannot seem to reach the top off the screw so i uplifted the lugs with screwdriver like you suggested and the lug fell off then i heard something fall between the walls so i guess i will have to do this with all 6
And then iam gonna have to fill these holes and because it is hollow in there iam not sure where to go from here
any sugestions please ? if i filled them first with paper or something it might take a years newspapers because iam guessing this will all just fall down between the wall ?
    thank you

Are they sticking out? If not just leave them in place and fill and paint over them. Even if they are protruding, just knock them in.

Hi i have managed to knock the lugs off , these had to come off or would have been noticeable when i decorate as i just want to emulsion , trouble now is how to fill the never ending holes which are there.?
The hollowness between the walls will swallow up the filler so not sure what to do now...any ideas please ?
