Hi all,
Not a silly question Anglea - of course I didn't need it, like I don't need most of what I buy. Still it's nice & I will definitely wear it, so all's not lost.
I've just made that call I'd been putting off (about work experience) but the person wasn't available to speak to, so they're calling me back. I wish I wasn't such a stuttering, mumbling mess on the phone:mad:
I feel a bit lost & aimless at the moment - living up to my username, I guess.
Anyway, what are you all doing today? Any naughties to declare?0 -
Hi all
CL I'm going out soon, so will tell you the verdict later. I only plan to go to the post office to send a letter, and the weather is awful so I keep putting off getting ready.
I wondered about your job ideas. Can't you get your mum to make a call for you?
I have a couple of calls that I've put off for years. My tax code is wrong and when I first discovered I tried to sort it out but it was never done properly at the other end and after getting messed around I gave up. It hasn't actually affected any money. However it ought to be done, but as it was so long ago I now feel embarassed to ring them because they might be wondering why I keep leaving it.0 -

Hi Anglea
I am determined to fill in my tax return, got it last year but put it to one side. I have all the information, just need to get it out and deal with it. I only need to find details of savings interest and have just a few shares so they want to know dividends. I know it won't make any difference to my tax code as certainly won't take me into the next tax bracket!
I've also 2 letters to write that I have been putting off for years, but are important to me. One is about 3 wedding photos of my son's wedding which were not printed correctly and the woman was going to come and pick them up, never heard from her again and I've moved since. And the other is about photos too. They are of my dad who died when I was 8. I lent 2 photos to someone from a walking group he belonged to and was told would get originals back within the week. Several years and letters later I have still not had them so will write to the group not the individual. Not Rachmaninov

Hi CL
Not up to much today but have cooked a cheese tart for the freezer, not that there is much room in there.
My houseguest is now back for another 2 weeks before he moves into a permanent address. He bought some food yesterday so I asked him to bring back some milk. Otherwise that is all I would have bought. Still plenty of food in but running low on vegetables. Not Rachmaninov

Hi all
Froglatina, I'm glad I'm not the only one that puts off letters. Yours do seem important for you to write, but I can understand how easily it is to put things off. I hope this year you can finally sort everything out with the photos.
Tax forms - good luck. I remember when I used to do all manner of financial forms and they can be a hassle to get all the information to hand.
Today I went to the post office but couldn't return without going into a charity shop and buying somethingAnother book. The Waterfall diet. It was a toss up between that one and a book on public speaking!
I think this one is useful because I have been wondering for a long while how I could never lose weight no matter how active I was - I used to walk 6 hrs a day as well as doing loads of excercises and if I saw a doctor they'd just say it was hormones or ibs which I do have. But I couldn't lose the extra weight that was always going up or down sometimes overnight 7lbs would appear even though I hadn't done anything unusual. So for once with this book it could be money well spent!
Not that I will actually follow the diet as there is no way I could do it for a day let alone 2 months. But some of the information is very interesting and I can make a few changes.0 -
Hey all
Well nothing much to report here this week - spent roughly £13 on three days at work and a night out tonight ... woohoo
I have been thinking today, is there anyway of improving my credit rating through day to day actvity. I am trying to make over payments on a couple of small debts i've got and I paid a credit card off last month yaaaaay
But ive been thinking, should I as ive got an oasis card, every time I make a purchase from there, buy it on there and pay it as soon as I get home, maybe get another store card from a shop i regularly use and do the same, or maybe use a credit card for everything and religiously pay it off each month.
Any opinions? this thread is so much nicer than a lot of others on here, there full of people after a slanging match haha xx0 -
Hi all
NGlady, I don't know anything about cards and didn't realise you had any debts, I'm just thinking that with all that extra cash you have each month, couldn't you just pay them off?0 -
To be honest, I probably could. But I only owe a £1000 from my unemployment stage (this is down from several thousand over the last 9 months) and itd involve just doing nothing for 2 months, im paying 250 off a month atm0

Just a quick comment tonight:
OMG whats happening in Tunisia!!! Scary I was there less than 8 weeks ago.0 -
I didn't know anything about it until when I was watching Shameless and turned over in the break. I have to admit I did think of you Nglady.
How much did you spend on food today?0
