I haven't read the whole of this thread but I think I have an addictive personality too. If I get into something I'll go the whole hog. I have just joined the no more buying toiletries thread.....i do think I also need to join, no more clothes, shoes, jewellery and definitely NO MORE CRISPS!!! I love crisps and last week had 4 bags instead of dinner
:
I'm not a stalker or anything but if someone mentions something I have to get it too - not exactly the same thing but just have to shop for new shoes, clothes, anything really. Is that wierd?0 -
well currently my hair is black, it's been every colour of the rainbow...pink,red,orange,green,purple etc...i get so bored easily...with everything...i've got lots of dyes due to buying on offer and wanting a change and realising in the end it wouldn't really suit me
think i'm going to list them on ebay for a couple of quid and free p&p...they sit there and mock me...like i'm a failure or something...
not good....

Have joined Bigwardrobe, so hopefully will save a bit of money by swapping. Have put 2 items on. You have to pay £1 a month though to swap more than one item a month.0

I am the same when I hear what other people have bought - I end up buying it for myself. Usually it something that I wouldn't have even wanted unless I'd heard someone else talking about itvelocity.girl wrote: »well currently my hair is black, it's been every colour of the rainbow...pink,red,orange,green,purple etc...i get so bored easily...with everything...i've got lots of dyes due to buying on offer and wanting a change and realising in the end it wouldn't really suit methink i'm going to list them on ebay for a couple of quid and free p&p...they sit there and mock me...like i'm a failure or something...

I'm the same with hairdye... I had a few stockpiled but sold them recently becayse they were all lighter shades (brown and reds) which won't go over my dyed black hair for a while until my current colour has grown out.0 -
Oh i think they may have changed it since i first started. I was a member from 2008 and they did a website change a few months ago.
If you put loads of items up, your more likely to get your monies worth though
If I can be of any help at all wth this bigwardrobe thing, please askLearning to be 'good with money'0 -
Hello again,
Isn't it strange how many of us love crisps. I find Kettle crisps affect the inside of my mouth so don't eat them.. I've had more salt & v. this afternoon and got some left over for later. I'll probably have a stomache ache tomorrow.
There used to be a time I was very addicted to picked onions, used to drink out of the jar!But haven't touched them in years now.
Just now I've been doing a mental list of all the stuff I could buy from the free gadgets catalogue that came with the Sunday paper - at least 10 'useful' items;). I must put it in the re-cycling box to stop any further ideas.
Hi Indian Girl4 bags instead of dinner - what flavour? Perhaps you have to buy similar to others because you don't want to feel you are missing out on something?

I don't mention my clothes/beauty habit much in case people think "all those clothes/facials/hairdo's, and she still looks a mess!". I'll reply in the toiletries thread later.velocity.girl wrote: »my bloke gave me £60 to go out with last night
He sounds lovely:heartsmilsalesaddict wrote: »Thankyou Karom,
I am going to do this. I think its a great idea. I rarely by 'fashion'. I always tend to go for things that won't date. So I can keep my things for years and still enjoy wearing them, as long as I can keep my weight under control, but thats a whole different thread.
Thanks again.
I've got this image of you using the vacuum bags as a method of fitting even more stuff into limited space!
I never thought of my shopping habit as an addiction before this discussion started. I've always seen myself as a "smart shopper who gets great value". This began as a student because I've always had a strong preference for expensive brand name things but a Primark budget. By shopping in sales I've always been able to get the expensive things I desire for low prices.
This weeks example (despite having no/clothes toiletries in my sig:o). I bought 7 pairs of socks. 4 of these are slipper socks for around the house. Brand="totes" from Debenhams sale: RRP €52 but I got the 4 pairs for €10. Then 3 pairs in GAP for €1.99 each RRP €9.99 each. So I was delighted with my bargain socks for Primark prices. My mother was loving the bargain too. She always seems to think purchases like that don't count. As others have said of course it's not saving at all because never in a million years would I go to the shops and spend €82 on socks!
I'm not bothered about M+S although I always look at the limited collection and have a few nice things from there. I hate NEXT, it has never appealed to me in any way, prefer Karen Millen to Coast, love GAP and Warehouse and Boots. Mags30, RRP £82 on socks - I think you have got a bargain when I recall Vinnie Jones talking about his socks on Big Brother. Over £400 a pair!
NGlady - I've come over all peculiar after reading about prawn cocktail crispsThey are yummy.

I didn't need socks! And I was so easily able to justify it to myself "they look so warm, they'll be so handy next winter if it's as cold again". I'm even thinking of going back for more as they would make lovely presents.:oTotal debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000
