Oh yeah and just another rant from yesterday
What? I haven't been on here for a while, I need to get it out my system.
Tesco area manager-don't know your name so I'll stick to Mrs snooty snoot for now. I went into my local branch yesterday and found one of those Hoselock sprayer attachments for the end of the hosepipe. No price, not in any packaging and the last one left. Went to the till to get a price. Asked if I could have a discount as this was the last item on the shelf (back in the old days they always did this, owing to the fact that the item had probably been sitting there for a while). The assistant said I would be best to ask a manager. Well there just happened to be one of those manager looking people standing at the end of one of the isles, speaking to a respective manager looking person. Well after standing in front of the two of them for what felt like a lifetime (you know what it was like when you were a kid standing at the teachers desk waiting for them to finish their conversation with whoever?), madam broke off her conversation when I got sick of waiting and interrupted. I asked for a discount, and her reply was "we don't give discounts just because its the last item on the shelf". Oh really? Well I don't like having to go and ask how much something is because someone forgot to put price details on the shelf, I then don't like being met with your carppy attitude, may I just remind you that people like me are your customers, and we are responsible for your area sales figures, which mean at the end of the day whether you have a job or not. I might suggest you take a trip down the road to Waitrose where they have a better understanding of what constitutes good customer service.
For all she knew, I might have been a mystery shopper, or a multi millionaire spending £500 on their weekly shop. The fact is, if she had even offered 10p off as a good will gesture, then that might have brought me back to the store week after week, just because they showed that they cared about their customer. Don't they know that if they get a bad customer review that that person is likely to tell their friends and family which will probably result in lowered business for them? I put the item back and have vowed never to shop in one of their stores again, that teamed with the fact that they were selling reduced items one week-Walkers crisps 3 bags for £3, and still had the same 'saver sticker' on when they had increased the offer to 3 for £3.50. And you have also lost your sales of cheap chickens for the last year. I'd rather eat a happy chicken than one of your unhappy ones. My local jewellers have said that after my earrings are repaired that I can come and collect them whenever I can afford to, they'll be waiting in the safe for my collection. Now that kind of thing will probably result in me buying any of my personal and gift jewellery from there and for years to come. They are a classy jewellers and did not make me feel cheap.
And on a closing rant for the day, how can someone return a skirt to a charity shop because it didn't fit and request a refund? I did witness this yesterday. Unbelievable.
ta, ta for now peeps

More monkeys at work. Virgin card have upped the interest I think, after I opted to keep my old rate and the account would be closed as soon as the debt was paid off.Hmmmm. I'll have to look into that one.
Hope everyone is ok. Tired as I woke up at 5.30 thinking about work, and I'm on annual leave. It is really sad that I'm looking forward to getting back just so I feel in control again-so I know what is going on and that my boss isn't finding things I've done wrong so she can have a pep talk with me when I get back. This is no way to live.
All this debt busting has been instrumental in teaching me that there's more to life than earning money and getting nice things. I'd rather be a bit scruffy, retire early, and spend decent quality time with OH. A walk out in the country yesterday just put everything in perspective.

Pants pants and more pants. Hopefully after a couple of days at home work will be forgotten about. Walks in the country sound fab. Took the hairballs for a walk yesterday in wellies and foul weather gear. Still arrived home looking like a drowned rat. Enjoyed every minute of it although the DDs did point out I was too old to be jumping in puddles. Think they were just jealous that I could make bigger splashes than them.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Sounds fab Moo. You're never too old to splash in puddles
The spirits are lifted once more as it's payday. Do the usual look at a nice healthy bank balance and dream of it all staying there one day (one day soon, just a year to go), and then promptly paid it all out. Did feel rich for a moment though. FabHave put aside my first £100 toward car repairs (just in case). Not pleased that after having front and back breaks done, they are still squeeking, Kwik Fit have gone way down in my estimations. Anywho but of an expensive one this month, but I'm setting up envelopes with cash in for these expenses, and the switch card is staying at home. Passport £50, (so I can go for job interviews, here's hoping),renew driving licence photo £20 (robbing whatsits) and new trainers £27 (my other ones are on their last bit of sole), as I want to start cycling to work (16 miles each way? I must be crazy)
Going to the seaside for the day today. OH and I were going to go to a restaurant to treat ourselves, but we figured that would cost about £50, and if we went to the seaside for the day that would cost around £40, and as we are not likely to have a holiday for the forseeable future with debt busting and house saving then we took the second option. So £20 for petrol which OH is paying, and then I'm stumping up the other £20 for drinks and sandwiches on the way, chips on the pier when we get there, and a few goes on the 2p machines, oh and maybe a try for a cuddly toyCan't wait.
Have a good day everyone.

Had a lovely day at the seaside yesterday and even came back with £2 out of my budget
It really got OH and I inspired to get our debts sorted as we are really missing out on so much by having this hanging round our necks. We've definitely learned our lesson.
Free listing weekend on ebay today and tomorrow, so I'll be flogging everything bar my bra and pants. I don't know how I'll physically manage to package it all up and ship it out, but by god according to my calculations I could be debt free bar £500 by Christmas this year. Come hell or high water I will do it. Also inspired by a friends photos doing the himalaya trip. Those photos are amazing, and this is the kind of thing I have always wanted to do. Simple solution, debt is holding me back, so debt has to go. I'm determined not to fail. This would mean that I wouldn't feel so pressured at work, the dream of owning our own house could become a reality. I am going to be so tight for the rest of my life.

Morning everyone.
Well I almost managed it yesterday. I literally spent the whole of sunday photographing, listing etc and finished at 10.45 last night. I managed 72 items out of the 138 i intended to list. To those who manage to list 100 items, I salute you, it's a physical workout. 1st day back after the holiday, so naturally woke up early thinking about what carp I was going to back to. Heres hoping its a good one.

Nothing much to report, only that Barclaycard have now increased my credit limit by £1000. Crazy!
Think they can lure me into spending? Not this Thrifty.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Just dropping by briefly. Not been on here for a while, as I found writing about my debts every day was making me dwell too much on it, so the best way is to put it kind of, to the back of my mind while continuing to pay stuff off. Had a few socials this month so not as much paid off, but I've enjoyed being out and about.
Also decided that although it is a free listing day tomorrow on ebay, I'll not be listing anything, it's too much hassle. I've now got to sort out something that I sold over a month ago. I can't be doing with it, and some of the people who buy are quite rude. I don't need to be bullied on cyber space, so I'll continue to get cheapey clothes from there and anything else I need, but apart from that, no way pedro!
Hope everyone is ok.
