Beat yourself around the head with a v. posh handbag woman. To nick Lula Hula's catchphrase you are F*ing Fabulous. Don your favourite matching undies even if its a pair of Bridget Jones knickers and a sports bra in black, slap on your favourite shoes and proclaim to your hairbrush I can do this because I truly am f*ing fabulous. Having made a right banana of yourself its now OK to wear the sort of outfit that consitutes normal for whatever you do.

Life is far far far too short to spend any time feeling anything but positive. So what if you're surrounded by !!!!!! morons who can't send e-mails. Just because they're happy without qualifications doesn't meant thats the right thing for you. Pull your socks up woman. Cram a chocolate bar in your gob and start over. Today is the dawn of a new day and all that.

    Tough love MSE style!

ps. being debt free but naked in public is quite possibly not the brightest idea in the world.

    Thanks Moo,

That made me laugh so much I cried. Time to pull the socks up. Even if I do end up touting the big issue, at least I'll have style! Think have been a bit too busy at work and the sun rising early has meant waking at 5 every morning. Just a bit of being run down and tears before bedtime. Still a bit jittery, but I will shove a chocolate bar in my gob and get out there.

Cheers moo, that the kick up the arris I needed. Did those great inventors give up when things went wrong? No they ruddy well didn't, I love Geography and I'm going to get myself a career helping others gosh darn it. Yeah!

So today was much better. I think I just needed to get out of the house really. Back on the positive thinking and back on the debt busting.

Two weeks to payday tomorrow, so halfway through the month already. Also on annual leave the week after next, so will not be so tempted to spend as I'll be pottering around the house :)

Today I'm a lot better rested and a lot happier. Both bank accounts are in a positive balance, and if a few ebay sales go through i will have only gone oD once this month by £2.99, a lot better than previous months.

    Afternoon everyone

Feeling really upbeat this afternoon, as I've taken the plunge and listed some of my most precious items on ebay-least precious first-i'm just dipping my toe in. It has suddenly dawned on me what is important this weekend (yes I'm slow to catch on), but its family and the life you life together. OH and I somehow seem closer, we have lots of lovely lettuce from the allotment this weekend and potatoes (we had to pick them this weekend as they had started to get blight), we've got potatoes coming out of our ears, so better get thinking up some varied potato recipes.

I don't know why I got into debt in the first place-well maybe I do. I was unhappy. Now I have a future to work towards. I'm going to be sensible with my money so that we can have holidays and start living life again.

    Evening all,

Hope you are all ok. Well Thrifty is all about the being motivated this week. Have finally decided that next October I will be climbing Mount Kilamajaro for charity. I've always wanted to push myself, and if a charity can benefit from my trip then that's good.

    Hi Everyone

Hope everyone is ok. Spent a bit of time sorting out ebay stuff so not been on for a while. Well if you haven't seen it already, pop over to the grab it now forum. I've just signed up to an ING ISA. You only have to invest £1 and they give you £20 for opening the account. I've named it the house saving account, I know I won't be able to put that much in there but a free £20 is better than nothing.

    xx

Next up is to compile a to do list for the years ahead-I'm looking at 5 years. What I need to do and how I will get to my goals. Job is absolutely unbearable, so I have to get out of that, amongst other things being asked my opinion on something and being kept on the phone when I call in sick has a touch of the insane about it. Plus it not being convenient to take annual leave at any time of the year it seems too. Anyhow, have applied for 1 job so far, and another few coming up. Can't wait for my course to start in November, as when I'm studying I really feel like I'm getting somewhere. Looking forward to taking a walk in the forest with OH tomorrow and picking up some pine cones for xmas decorations.

Just one teeny tiny rant this morning. Got a message from ebay saying that I have received 1s and 2s for my postage costs, and that I have to try not to get so many of these to meet their seller requirements. Ebay purchasers like the postage to cost the exact amount that it costs to send or preferably free.

Don't even get me started on this one.

    1. Today ebay seems to be all about the buyer and the seller seems to get jack support.
    2. By the time ebay and Paypal have creamed their respective 10% off the top, and the buyer has paid next to nadda for your item, is it really worth it?
    3. Some people are just low raters. Of course they would like free postage, but I'm not a business seller-I think ebay is tactically trying to make the site business sellers only.
    4. Do those people who rate the postage as a low score actually do the following?: check the amount of postage that was paid on the label, consider the time spent in your lunch hour queuing up in the post office, the cost of packaging, the fact that people do not have post office scales at home to see how much this will cost, and finally and most importantly why the hell did you bid on the item if you didn't like the postage price!!!!!!!!!!
    5. the most I have ever "made" from postage is 50p.

Can you believe that one of them moaned about the postage because they had bought an as new leather jacket for 99p, the postage is limited by ebay anyway so you can't overcharge anymore, anyway, the postage charge was £4.00, and I think this came to £3.25. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE, YOU JUST GOT A LEATHER JACKET FOR £4.99 INCLUDING POSTAGE!!!!!!

Anyway I'm feeling better after that.Ebay might want to consider that some buyers are just unrealistic and will always complain. Ebay is not a shop (well for the most part), a lot of people are just clearing out their old stuff (or selling their most precious stuff because they are in debt and want to get out of it) and want to get a few pennies for their items. GET REAL EBAY!!!! And if you want to close my account because my postage is unrealistic then go ahead. Spending every monday lunchtime amongst the post office customers finest is not my ideal way to spend my free time.

    Do I hear a yeah?
