While you are listening to the two guys on your shoulder.....
If your current TV is as old as you think will it be OK when you have to switch to digital?
And thank Crunchie indeed, what a flippin week it has been :j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
I will second than crunchie its Friday. WOW to the loan figures. Can you come and sort mine out please.
re the tv. You have been going great guns on the loan, you have been overpaying. If the TV is one of your few "social" spends then it might be money well spent. Sometimes a reward to yourself can help you keep moving forward and keep ploughing into the debt. I would go for it if you have thought it through and can still justify it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Oh Nicca, another one for the holibags - Tebay Services on the M6 is worth stopping at. It is not your normal motorway services, great restaurant and a fabby farmshop that is well worth a browse through even if you are not buying. I stopped southbound but I am told northbound is even better. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tebay_services:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0

The only services to stop at!It was my regular haunt on jounreys betweeen Leicester and Glasgow (I worked in Leicester for a couple of years when I first qualified). Thank you!
I'm not convinced a TV would be the best thing for me to spend my money on as it's not my favourite thing to do! But the one that's been recommended can stream iplayer, LoveFilm and YouTube to it so that would make it worthwhile! My favourite thing to do pottering about the house is just to play different songs on YouTube. And when I watch TV (other than the news) it's usually catch up TV.
I think I'll be ok when we go digitial as we have a freeview box. Having said that, it belongs to my flatmate so if he moved out, my TV would be obsolete. I figure that it'll be August or September by the time I pay the RBS loan off (if I can keep up the current level of overpayments!), so if I still want the TV then, it's not exactly an impulse buy and I can stop beating myself up about it.
Yikes, is that the time... better scoot to second job.... (hope you all have been making the best of the sunshine! I could even wear just a t-shirt here in Glasgow! Though I still saw a poor soul who evidently felt it was still too cold as he was in a long sheepskin coat. Wonder what he was wearing when the snow fell?!)Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Freeview is okay, but a recording freeview box is better IMHO. But you are right with freeview and a computer/laptop you can't really go far wrong.
Right back to assignment - this is like painting the Forth road bridge!

Been looking into Freeview+ Butti, however so far it seems Freeview+ TVs don't exist. The cheapest + box is around £100 and the cheapest Freeview+ HD box is around £200... the Freeview website has links to products and there just aren't any TVs, at the moment, for the + and the only ones coming up on search engines are HD ready. So if you know of any, do share the secret!
Contemplating going to buy ice-cream. I stll have chocolate fudge cake to eat and you know it tastes devine with ice cream! I already threw my NSD away with my hair cut and a pair of Calvin Klein trousers (from TK Maxx obviously) for work (I now have two pairs of trousers that fit properly! We're slowly getting there) so there's nothing to stop me!
I also need earplugs. Any kind of noise tends to keep me awake at night but at the moment it's the awful howling/yelping sound of the foxes around about. Argh!!!! It's incessant!
My flat is a tip and I can't be bothered to clean it. Any-one fancy popping over? Oh, go on! You know you want to!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

I'm lucky in that I only have to worry about me. Which is why I was able to get both a second job and a lodger to help pay the loans down. It's just that this is the first year I've been able to use that money soley for loan repayment and not life getting in the way (i.e. no weddings, big birthdays, family gatherings etc. or scary, unexpected big bills/emergencies have been eating in to that money so far this year).
Though NSDs, focus and you guys all do keep me on track, or chaos could easily ensue still!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
