Added a wee linky to my previous post... though if you were looking for something 100% pure natural, you're pretty much there. You just need to make sure you are then on the right site for your country. :D

Still haven't ordered. Still coveting. :D

Maybe that can be my treat when NRAM is paid off and lodger is off (21 days to go...) :o

    . ;)

Mine is now coveting the TV. Had to watch the One Show last night just so I could reclaim some ownership of the 7-9pm slot from Emmerdale/Corrie/Eastenders/Corrie. When she realised this was happening she dragged the no reception TV up from the garage and insisted we try to get it to work.

Wasn't even bothered about the One Show just that 'YOU'RE ONLY RENTING A BLOODY ROOM. IT'S MY TV'. Advice Nic? She's only been in for 9 days and she's driving me mad. Tomorrow is our communal cleaning day - the UK's stocks of bleach are not safe!!!or enough!

You have a communal cleaning day????? Bleach? I don't touch the stuff! I literally clean with with vinegar and bicarb of soda and lemon. So on that count I'd already be off on a wee ecological rant! Tell her you are allergic to corrosive substances. Most people would be! Or tell her she's lucky she's not lodging with Nicca... and let rip

Re. the telly, you need to get one in her room if you can. In my experience soap addicts are hardcore addicts and have no insight into their condition. They will do whatever they need to do in order to get their continual fix. The worst of it is that they will drag you into this addiction if you are not extremely careful! If a TV in her room is not possible (somebody somewhere will have one lying around they have no intention of using) then you have to come clean and tell just how much work it took for you to go cold turkey with the soaps and as such, you cannot possibly allow them to be in the house. Though I'd swap The One Show for the Channel 4 news as a ritual. My lodger even got so he turned the TV over, gave me the remote and left the room. We seemed to have an unwritten rule that the TV ws his up to 6.30pm, then mine until 9ish. Then there was a bit of a scuffle depending what was on! Again, he came to understand any type of property show could not be interfered with; most other things were fair game.

Alternatively, get rid of the TV completely! :D I effectively won't have one when my lodger moves out as the freeview box is his and I probably won't be fussed enough to go out and buy one.

    Good luck.

Mrs Moo, I have coveted for a long time. I still haven't ordered properly though. The time will come!

    18 days to go...

The list of things I want to do is geting longer by the day. (How they will be funded largely not considered!) In no particular order:

    Big, gorgeous wooden bookcase.
    Big, gorgeous wooden coffee table.
Wood burning stove (which would surely necessitate a newly decorated living room).
Proper, nice blinds (which will probably make the curtains look tatty).
Lovely sleek kitchen (if a triangular, curvy kitchen can be sleek).
    Lovely sleek bathroom.
    Artex on hall ceiling covered.
New light in hall ceiling. Thae one that's there is hideous.
New electric box. (OK, there should be a particular list and this should be top!)
More plug sockets in the soon to be reclaimed "multi-purpose room" :rotfl: Which will quadruple up as a businessy space, yoga space, sewing machine space and a cosy room for visitors (quite how I'll manage this, I'm a bit less sure!).
    New flooring in said room.
    New internals doors.
    New boiler.

So just a wee list of things to keep me going then! :rotfl:

I'll need to choose between that or the lovely make-up. :rotfl:
Or flights to visit my friend about to move to Dubai...

Hmmm, any-one else think I ought to learn to budget before I become debt free????

Balance on student loan 1 = 0 :j Only 13 years after I graduated! (Though I only earned enough to start paying it back 6 years ago.) One more scored off the list! Woo hoo.

Lodger is currently smashing, throwing and hitting things in his room. 18 days can't come soon enough!

I responded in a very mature way. I slammed the bathroom door closed in a I can hear you kinda way.

    .

    I've worked out a coping mechanism;

    1. Spend as much time as possible in the library, the uni library, free events.

    2. Get a job 200 miles away.

Not seeing her is working as a strategy.

What's her lease? At what point can you serve notice? Or more importantly, do you know your crunch point where your sanity is more important than the money she is paying. Though if you head 200 miles away, it's a moot point.

You should NOT have to feel like that in your own home. Sounds like he is having a real tantrum Nic, at least he is in his own room and not stomping around the flat smashing it up. Seems to me that the sooner he is out the better. As for poor Butti...... it is your house, I would be serving notice. Are there really rules for when you can serve. I thought that was the beauty of lodgers is that you can get rid when you want to.
I was thinking about getting one, maybe not!
