a couple of years ago i bought myself a valentines card from a charity shop (totally forgot about it till now!) it was an original 1981 (?) care bears card with grumpy bear on it, that was the one i 'was' when we were kids, we all had one, mum, dad, sis and i. it had never been written in and is now in my box of memories! maybe i should write it to myself and bring it out every year :rotfl:0

sat in front of me i have a cheque for £665.80, my credit card statement came in this morning and i wrote out the cheque to pay it off in full. :j now i have a dilemma, do i blow my plans for today and take a wander down to the bank to pay it in now meaning i can cancel that card in a weeks time? OR do i leave the money in my savings account for a week or so (bill not due to be paid till 6/3/07) and save up whatever paltry amount in interest i can? i know the true mse way would be to pay it off at the last minute to get that interest but i'd love to cancel the card and chop the bu**er up that bit quicker...tho it also means i'll spoil my nsd going into town...argh why do these things have to be so complicated?
the money saving angel on one shoulder is in a punch up with the moneysaving devil on the other! :rotfl:0 -
How much would you be willing to pay for the pleasure of cutting it up NOW?
If that's less than the interest you'll make, then make that trip into town. Do other things while you're there, so you can have an NSD some other day."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

i tried tossing a coin, my usual method of deciding things as i'm so indecisive sometimes! it said no. best two out of three i think :rotfl:
eeeek so even the law of averages has deserted me five 'tosses' and all tails! sod i'm off to get dressed, credit card down here i come! :j0 -

Either you've got a loaded coin, or you have a hidden talent.
Five straight tails is a 1 in 32 chance."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

does that mean i should buy a scratchcard on my way into town? :rotfl: was just a 2p i pulled out of my purse so i doubt it's loaded (wish i was tho!)0 -

i knew that coin was on to something!!!!!
i went into town, paid my credit card :j then went to the shops for the couple of bits i needed then....
i fell in love...
with a dress...
in monsoon....
at full price (i'll leave the rest to your imaginations!)
i would like to point out that i did NOT buy it....yet, but i am so so so so tempted, it looked stunning on and was a size 12 that fitted(though when i first tried it on and the '12' was too big i thought woohoo size 10 here i come, then realised it was a 14 on a 12 hanger! ) adn i have my grandas 80th bday at the start of march and since it's a ball/dance type party it'll look stunning when i get spun round the floor by my dad/grandad... why does life do this to me???? argh it's not even some place i shop, it caught my eye through the door!
technically i could wait till next week and buy it cash form my wages, just means i don't have the money to put towards paying off my last debt....there are so many stupid ways i can see justifying it to mysefl, i was stood in the shop thinking, if i take out the pru health thing on quidco then cancel it after a month thats £100 towards it blah blah blah
other than that i spent £6.95 on a cake tin and some store cupboard bits so i can have a baking/batch cooking thing going on this evening!0 -
well done for resisting it! How about, if you still love it and want it next week, maybe consider buying it? then its not just an impulse thing.. right?
