  • I've just had the same emails so I called the number.

    Sky told me that my payment details hadn't gone through correctly and that they need to take the order again.

    I asked to cancel the order but was told that I would have to contact customer services as they were unable to do so!

  • So... Instead of going for a jog I thought I would pursue this further.

    I'm on the phone to Sky's customer services - currently on 18 mins - I've explained the situation to an 'advisor' who took my details and said she would speak to a manager.

    Watch this space...

    I've now been told that there is a £4 outstanding amount from when I last cancelled Sky back in March 2007 which is why they can't process the order!

    I explained that I was told it would be written off in lieu of the amount of money I spent on phone calls with the various issues I had with them and that I have never received any reminders about the amount since that time.

    She's called me back and is now on with a manager again...

    Same thing happened to me but in my case it was a bill for services after I had cancelled Sky,which I'm refusing to pay.

    Anyhoo,here's how I got around it.I went & seen a friend who's a Sky Rep in the local shopping center & he processed the order using my middle name & reversing my DOB on the sign up form & it went thru no problems!

    As to your problem,I'm wondering if it may have something to do with that Sky use contractors for their installs over here (Finlay Communications) that's causeing the problem.

    As you would expect there is a long story.

    In the end I was put through to someone in customer services who said he would credit me the £4 - after I explained that it was charges after I had cancelled.

    The problem was that I was on the phone for a total of an hour and my cordless phone battery died and I was hoping to get a call back - which I didn't.

    I emailed Sky to find out the situation and I'm now told that I have to set up a direct debit - which I already did - to enable me to get an account.

    The saga continues... I can only guess that I won't be receiving any cashback if I carry on with the order.
