No buying toiletries in February challenge!

Ten pages to catch up
I haven't bought anything, not even the body shop stuff :A
My goodness, I've had such a fab few days - this decluttering stuff is totally addictive, isn't it?! I've been listing on ebay (me! the ebayophobe) and anything that isn't nailed down is going. Littl'un better watch out :rotfl: Had stuff sell for 6x what I paid for it. Fair enough, it was only the managers special stuff (anti wrinkle creamI don't need it, but it was cheap. Have got to stop doing that :wall:).
I actually love the p&p serum and moisturiser :happyhear It makes my skin look luminious and glowing.
Have used up so much stuff since I last posted (I just saw that I've been thanked by Rebecca Bloomwood - how cool is that?):
L'oreal sublime bronze instant tan £7/8?
WIBA? If on offer and desperate for instant tan, otherwise no.
Colgate whitening mouthwash Guessing around £2, paid 20p
WIBA? No, tastes vile, but still got another 3 to go  It was being discontinued in boots. I've come to the conclusion that mouthwash and I don't get on very wellI do like dentyl pH though.
L'oreal sublime bronze £9.99
WIBA? As before, yes.
Vaseline intensive care deodorant aloe fresh £2 bought 2 for £1.
WIBA? Used this for years, was my fave until Mitchum. No, unless no mitchum available.
Sanctuary mande lular £??
WIBA? Was nice, but have other favourites so no.
Next paradise bath crystals, £?? was a gift
WIBA? No, they smelt horrid
Next paradise scrub
WIBA? Was a nice product, but prefer shower gel and exfoliating gloves - it's more economical.
Pantene mini £1??
WIBA? No, don't like pantene and I don't know where this came from?
Disposable Razor.
WIBA? Nooo  Slowly but surely working my way through them though.
And a few shower gel/body lotion samples from magazines, etc.
On a not so happy note. I just ran upstairs to get my used-up list and saw another hand lotion on top of the wardrobe _pale_ Will just shove it on my feet and put on a pair of socks.
And finally, today's lesson: Stop opening stuff until you've finished the one that's already open :wall: That's how you ended up with 4 open toothpastes and about 5 shampoos in the shower
Good Luck ladies - happy pampering :j0 -

Only 1 conditioner in da house! 2 dregs of shampoo left. Loreal yuck! My hair feels so much heavier with it. Will be glad to use it up! Ooh forgot to report I nearly to lured into buying Loreal intensive conditioenr pots ( 2 for about £4). Then I thought, do I REALLY like this stuff. I then put it back. I could have fainted!

I love Lee Stafford for the pink bottles!OK, some advice now. I work nights and get a bit confused about the swap from day to night. So, when I start my nights I'm up at 7am. I don't go to bed until 8am the following day. So do I apply day cream morning and evening and then night cream in the morning when I head to bed. Or do I put night cream on for the night and then put my face on over the top?
Or....... Do I return the s***ing night cream and just use the day serum morning and night?

!
Night cream is meant to work while you are sleeping but I'm pretty sure that once you are putting some form of moisturiser on your skin be it day or night cream that your skin will be ok. Some of the products people use as moisturiser such as E45 and the big tubs of VitE cream don't specify day/night. If it was me I'll probably use day cream for the night shift because I associate night cream with sleeping.Today looking at finishing off the Paracetamols

I agree with you completely freyasmum. I have so many random bottles of moisturiser, 5 different avon foot products 'on the go' and various different hair products.
I'm not too bad with shampoo or shower gel (and used all the random stuff up last year so I'm just on what I like now).
So I'm doing 1 random moisturiser at a time on my feet each night to at least use them up and let me go back to S&G moisturisers.:AInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Finished my heel genius today -wiba-Yes definately if it's on offer.Love can tame the wildest0 -
Wow you ladies have been really busy chatting and I’ve only been away for a few hours!!
I finished a bottle of Cool Water perfume this morning; it was a present from OH’s brother last Christmas. WIBA: yeah it was nice and light, I wouldn’t have bought it for myself in the first place but it’s a good alternative to some of my other expensive perfumes.
I have quite fair hair and it is quite straight, so it is good for me. If you have curly hair you may have to brush like crazy to work it through your hair, so I am not too sure really (does anyone else know how it is for curly hair???)...
lostinrates wrote: »The words ''brush'' and ''curly'' simply don't mix, so its doubtful anything that needs brushing would suit a curly girly.
Think I’ll avoid the dry shampoo then  brushing my hair would be a complete nightmare, I’m not a 70’s Biba model but I’d look like a fatter version if I went anywhere near my hair with a brush!!
(If I’m honest I was hoping for a lazy girl solution to washing my hair!)
I don't have facial oil or face mist.
What is facial oil used for? Any good? (not that I need ideas I’m sure) lol

Another dissatisfied customer of No7 nail varnishes, I think we should get together and complain!!
Thank the Lord the Body Shop's sale seems to be over!
Amen to that!!
Only the Soap and Glory offer to avoid now, oh and the shampoo grabbit L*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
Resisted body shop I feel weak though.
I was feeling it yesterday too some days it feels like a really hard slog and other days I’m no so bothered. I guess toiletries have become a hobby for me (as sad as that sounds) so for me it’s about trying new hobbies (as scary as that is lol) so I’ve set up a blog for starters…not sure what else I’m going to try yet, suggestions on a postcard lolI have used up a 40ml tube of No7 Blissfull Bodywash It's only took 4 tries but it's gone, in the bin, outta my life, see ya!!!!!
Actually I'm a bit gutted because it was really lovely and sudsy... I've got enough stuff that I can't justify replacing it either.... which is kind of the point lol.
I’ve got one of those along with a full sized one, I’ve used the mini one once. It smells lovely and I think I would buy again if it was on offer, but not as an every day bodywash, I think it’d be a treat to have a bottle every now and then. Use it up and then use something else. Forward thinking: in the future I hope to only have 2 showergel’s/bodywashes at a time. The one open that I’m using and one spare, and that’s it! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get to the place where I replace something when it runs out!
thevicster wrote: »Queen - on the subject of foot creams, I really like the Avon African Shea Butter foot and elbow cream in a tub, it's on offer at £2 at the moment too! I've got a tube of the heel genius but have a few tubs of old moisturiser to get through first!!!
Thank you for that I might look into it J
I must look into dooyoo, is it very time consuming??
ooOOOoo I forgot abouy Dooyoo, what a good way to make some extra cash while I’m using up all these products!*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
I've still got 2 x body lotions I like, but I've come to the conclusion winter's too cold for body lotion.
I agree but I’m developed a system. I try to dry as much as I can before leaving the bathroom, then I manage to cream myself in bodybutter all over and put on my PJ’s in about 2 mins flat, then cream feet and put on socks and then jump in bed where hot water bottle as been to make it toasty!
I don’t like body lotions really, I like the thinkness of body butters I don’t know why!
teabythesea wrote: »I haven't bought anything at all! Doing so well I don't even look at the toiletries anymore
Woohoo that’s awesome, how long have you been in the challenge? (there is hope for me yet!)
finished my toner!
NONE LEFT IN STOCK!!!!!!!
Woohoo well done J
I use toner but I’m not really sure why!!
So tonight I decided that I will not replace my Virgin vie eye make up remover when (if) I ever use it up. It's an oil based one and it doesn't seem to remove mascara. Baby oil works brilliantly to get rid of mascara and is a fraction of the price.
Um that’s a good tip about the baby oil, I found half a bottle the other day and did wonder what I was going to do with it.

Night cream for sleep time, day cream for up and about. Night cream is much thicker so it sinks into your skin overnight. You might look a bit greasy if you use it when you wasn’t sleeping IYKWIM?

CompletelyLost wrote: »Queen of NO MATTER WHAT- I use Batiste dry shampoo sometimes and I have super wavy/frizzy hair (not curly though, but I never brush my hair unless it's wet) and it works a treat. But I only spray it at the root where my hair is greasy, then leave it in overnight and it's gone by the morning. I don't brush it through as it's only ever the root of my hair that gets greasy quickly.
Thank you...I might look into it then*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150
