I have a tube of that waiting for me. I'm a bit more excited about it after reading your review!
It took me a while to work out how to get the best from it. I find the best thing is to run water into the basin - nice and hot - and wring out a facecloth and go over my face with it. I leave it held against my face in sections to let the heat/steam work on the pores too. Then I lightly dip the flats of my hands in the water to properly wet my face, then use the facewash onto wet skin and massage over gently. Finally I wring out the facecloth again and hold against my face to reactivate the heating element in the facewash before wiping it all away. It feels just lovely! We need an "ethos of the challenge" post for the front page of the March thread.
I also prefer Olay to No7.
I don't own any but it comes in an orange tube and is a bit of a cult product like carmex lip balm. Not the easiest thing to find, internet order I'd say. http://www.pawpawstore.co.uk/category1_1.htm
I agree about the ethos of challenge intro for the new thread - I'll have a think. Oh, and I love Carmex lip balm too - it's brilliant stuff, and comparatively so cheap!Yorkielass wrote: »Having a disaster - OH doesn't like the smell of Mist you Madly and doesn't like it when I have it on in the car with him in there (which is most the time as we work at the same place)
He's ok with my using the shower stuff and I haven't tried the moisturiser yet but have an almost full spray(was going to buy the perfume last week on 1/3 off with points thank goodness i didn't)
I really like it but I can't wear a perfume my OH hates and doesn't like hugging me when I wear it.
He does like my perfumes, I've had Estee Lauder pleasures mini (which I finished yesterday) and a bigger bottle of beyond paradise so I guess I'll be using that up
Nothing else used up apart from perfume mini (I did finish another bath bar from lush on Sunday) and nothing else bought.
I have a bottle of Beyond Paradise on the go too - but have a bottle of J'Adore to finish first, plus some more of my minis. I did give a couple of Clinique minis away to my friend when she was here the other week though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

No, don't bin, take it back to Boots and tell them it burns, and see if you can swap it for something else you need, or points.
Good idea, I'll do that, do you think they'll still swap it even though I've used a bit?mrs-moneypenny wrote: »morning all
welcome to the newbies
managed a few use ups this morning,
a sachet of face scrub,
a sachet of hair mask,
2 sachets of face moisturiser,
little bottle of white musk body lotion, WIBA no have loads of body lotions in stash and this felt watery and i didnt particularly like the smell
smal tube of hand cream, (boots royal jelly) WIBA yes, in the future it was lovely but have more different hand creams to use up first
ive started using a planet spa shea butter foot and elbow cream i found in my stash it is brill, just looked in the current avon book and cant believe its only £1.99 i will buy that again but NOT untill the basket of foot products is used up in my cupboard. THey also do a hand and nail one for the same price but i have hand creams so im going to be good and ive already put the book out on the doorstep to be collected:A.
thats probally because ive realised this is already a huge spend month for me - i brought 2 copies of glamour mag for the angel offers so including what i spent on the mags to get the offers that was over £20. (one is going to be a mothers day pressie for me so DH paid for thast) Then i spent £14 on sactuary stuff so one of the kids could give me the free gift for mothers day. I spent £10 in asda on carex for the offer and brought a hot fudge bubble bath while i was there -it was rubbish smells lovely in the bottle but bubbles dont last and it doent smell at all once its in the water:mad: Then i had to pay £7 for a prescription of hydrocortosone cream when i had that rash, opps and i brought some E45 bath stuff and lotion because it was cheap in tesco. Rash has now gone so thats in the bathroom stash to use after the bed room stash as its newier:o
I've probally spent about £70 this month:eek:.
I've put a lavender body lotion in the bathroom to use up next as a pennance.
That Avon cream is great! I'm looking forward to being able to buy it again too. The hand cream is nice too.
I agree about the hot fudge bubble bath too, the smell really doesn't transfer at all, such a shame as it smells lush in the bottle!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -

Okay, now I've got that out... I was using my new pot of mineral foundation (£17 I paid for it and it was 3/4 full) today and I spilt the whole lot. I tried to scoop up what I could but most of it landed on my jeans and bed, and ground into the material. So I only have enough for a couple of days usage at the most.
I went to Superdrug, tested all their foundations and not of them were a decent match. I'll have to wait 3-weeks for a new one to arrive (learnt my lesson from this - always have spare!) and in the mean time I picked up a 2True pressed powder which I'll have to make do with. It was the closest colour match to mine, all the others in the shop were very pink or orange, it's not perfect but better than nothing.
So I spent £1.95.
Does anyone know of a good makeup that has yellowish tones to suit light asian skin?
I have to use a yellow-toned foundation too and can totally identify with your problems finding a good one. I used to use a Maybelline one but they stopped making it (Typical!) and after a LOT of looking and trying, I've now got THIS ONE from L'Oreal. I was cynical as anything to start with as I don't normally like their stuff much but this is excellent for me.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Afternoon ladies
A few quotes will be following - many profound things said, I can't help but respond
Used up so far this week:
Taylor of London Rose Eau de Toilette-WIBA? Yes, as I use these bargain sprays as body sprays generally. They don't last long, but enhance my many rose-scented perfumes
'Shower Gel'-WIBA? First, I'd like to know what it is! :rotfl:This was a sachet that came in one of my magazines, and the brand was supposed to be revealed in the next issue, but I can't find it. I Googled the address and it came up with a German product called 'DuschDas' which I think is related to Yardley. It foamed up really well, but despite it being for Normal/Dry skin, I didn't feel it was that moisturising. So, no
Sally Hansen 'Tough Nails'-WIBA? Possibly. I bought it a few years ago, and unfortunately forgot about it and it turned all thick and unspreadable. It did the job well, as my nails are quite weak, but I used it mainly as a top coat.
L'Oreal Feria Hair Colour-WIBA? Most definitely! Since finding my colour (Violet Black) in the Feria range, I feel a bit more secure since finding the Recital version is sadly hit and miss. I'm convinced it's the same product, although the instructions were a tad bit clearer in the Feria box
Confession time - again!Used the Body Shop glitch and got a Cocoa Butter Body Butter, Cocoa Butter wash, and Almond Oil cuticle stuff for the princely sum of £8. Also bought some cotton pads and another couple Olay 7 Washes using 2 vouchers at Boots (net £2.99 each), so another one bites the dust when it comes to staying true and faithful to the challenge
I work in a male orientated office and they don't talk about shower gel, lips tick or body butter.rosemary54 wrote: »now we are 100 pages do we get a telegram from the queen?lostinrates wrote: »For me this is only page 50. I recommend longer pages.0 -

They should do if you say you can't use it, and explain why i.e. you've had a reaction to it. No harm in asking, if you don't try, you don't get!0 -
Hey girls.
I've missed so much of this thread, I don't think I'll ever be able to catch up! I hope everyone's well, hugs to those who aren't doing so good :grouphug:
I know it's not quite the end of February, but I won't be buying anything else anyway.
Aimed for £0 spend. Reporting a spend of £-16.22 in February.(plus £1.50 cashback)
I have to confess I caved and bought some stuff from The Body Shop - came to £10, minus £1.50 cashback. Then I realised I'd only bought it because it was a bargain - not because I really needed it, so I took it back to the shop next time I was in town (Slight relapse, but I'm learning :j). I'd used the £5 code and the glitch was giving the most expensive thing free. When I took it back to the shop they gave me the cheapest thing free - even though I'd given them the receipt/packing slip that came with the order . They ended up giving me £27.50. So that brought my feb spend to £-17.50.
I'd also run out of nail polish remover so bought some today when in Morrissons, £1.28. Had been using the nail prep in the salon but, tbh, it's a nail dehydrator and the feeling of it makes my blood run cold at the best of times
Next month will be a bit (!!) higher - I've decided I'm gonna either have my eyebrows tattooed for or semi permanent eyelashes for my birthday.
Happy Pampering :hello:0 -

I showed the lady in the shop my foundation (swatched it on my hand) and she looked a bit lost as it was so yellowy next to all the pink-toned foundations that she was suggesting!
I never bothered to look at the L'oreal as I was hoping for something cheap (i.e. less than £7) to use for a couple of weeks, but if this 2True stuff isn't any good I will have a look next time I'm near Boots. I was looking at Sleek too, and they had one that was yellowy but it was too dark.
Oh, and I used to use a Maybelline one too but stopped buying it about a year ago as I bought a new one and the colour had changed! It was the shade 'natural' (70)... it took me ages to find a decent match after they changed it. I think all Maybelline foundations have pink undertones now0 -
But it's still working because people are buying less than before and thinking more about purchases:)This thread is 100 pages long, it's not just about sticking to the challenge, it's about the product reviews, recommending things people might like, ebay discussions, general chat and fun!
I'm finding this thread helpful in many ways, first and foremost thinking before I buy, plus I've found that all the chat that goes on has been very, very useful0 -
Afternoon everyone
WOW I'm gonna try to catch up later when I get a spare hour or 2 lol.
Bought some Boots moisturiser yesterday that I'll need by tomorrow... got 2 for £4BUT when I got home and put it away I found half a pot of Avon day cream... was gutted so gave one to my Nan and she gave me a tube of M&S sensitive hand cream :T I tried to use the Avon stuff last night and it just burnt my eyes so badly I binned it.
I'm on the look put for a cheap vanity case if anyone knows were the best place for one would be. I've got 3 makeup bags that are so full I can't zip them up and stuff keeps spilling out and rolling round the bedroom floor.
Also I won't be buying anything for a good while because my dog is off to the dog doctor on Monday for a little op that is going to cost me a fortune... god I love him  So I've kissed goodbye to the jacket I'd almost saved up for and the epilator I was planning on buying lol.
Tip of the day: Remove jewellery before using sandpaper!!! I've scratched the back of my engagement ring to bits and it's a right messOH isn't much impressed and I'm quite gutted.
Be back later for a proper read, happy Friday to you allEven if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -
The worst thing is that in the past two years I have hardly used any cosmetics/products and have kind of let myself go (keeping clean obviously but not spending enough time pampering, moisturing etc), and as a result have lost a lot of my self confidence.
So as of tonight I am going to get sorted with a new beauty regime and use up some of my stuff. Will read back the rest of the thread over the next few nights to catch up.lostinrates wrote: »you will be amazed how quickly you'll get soft and shiny.going to bed now but not before i cleanse, tone, moisturise, put on eye cream, sleep serum and foot lotion..... takes me an age to actually get to bed, but all this pampering does pay off, my skin is looking better0
