No buying toiletries in February challenge!

Just took advantage of the body shop glitch, bad me.
DD is going away to London in a couple of weeks for a long weekend and said she needed facial wipes, so I ordered her 2 packs of the Vit E ones and got myself the Vit E oil to try out. £6 spend, so not too bad.
Used up a mini Clean on Me and my final VO5 hot oil tube. Won't buy Clean on Me again as I prefer Clean, Girls and I might buy the hot oil again if my hair gets in bad nick again, which it probably will as I'm staying clear of salons for at least a year!!
I can't remember who suggested this, but the wee mini S&G tubs from righteous butter and flake away are well worth rinsing, peeling the stickers and holding on to. My friend is very crafty and I've given them to her to keep sequins, buttons etc in and she's thrilled. They are very sturdy!
Hope you're all well, and if you're up North, that the snow isn't depressing you too much!Come ride with me, through the veins of history...
I'll show you how God falls asleep on the job.

loving this thread by the way: dipping into it everyday now to help me keep on the straight and narrow.
E-Bay; I'd suggest that you only list a couple of items at a time, will take longer to get rid, but you'll get there in the end. V.good tip about working out how much the postage will be; as I buyer I'm def put off by a over the top postage cost. As a seller, I always send recorded and try to split this costs 50/50 with the buyer; really worth it IMO as sadly, there are chancers out there who will say they have not received via regular post.
If you can only get to the post office on certain days, put that in your blurb. Just saves the stress of buyers asking when you are going to post (if an auction finished on a Monday and you can't post until Saturday, that's seems a long time to a buyer).
Schedule your listing to fall at a good time: i.e not in the middle of Corrie, during the day, during the time of feeding the family. I try to end my listing between 7 - 7.30 pm.
Don't compete with yourself: if you have 2 (say) face creams to sell, list them one at a time. If you really want to list 2 items that compliment each other, i.e RoC day cream and a night cream, offer postal discount on the 2nd item.
Do you homework, scope Ebay to see what other sellers are charging for the same product, perhaps put them on your watching list to see if/what sells and at what price.
Finally, the on-line Community offer a wealth of advice and support, often your question has been asked before (a bit like, but not as good as MSE really!).
Hope this helps
Thank you so much!! I will get going on it this weekend and list a couple of things and see how I go.I'm buying No More Toiletries, I'm Deluttering and I'm Losing Weight for 2010!0 -

I'm not keen on the Avon Skin so Soft hand cream I've just started. It feels sticky and I don't really like the fragrance of it either.
It was a Christmas pressie along with shower gel, moisturiser, spray oil? etc too, so I might have to give the other stuff away or put it on Ebay. I've never bought Avon myself, it's not the same to me buying from a catalogue.Mortgage to clear asap! - [STRIKE]£148,874.38 [/STRIKE]as at 1 May 2013£79,176.55 May 2018£59,516.06 July 2019November 2020 £35,914.620 -
Also ebayers, keep your eyes and ears open for free listing days and REMEMBER Paypal and Ebay fees. I got a bit of a shock when I got my bill in this month.
Anybody know how regular these are? I'm unsure about selling low value items on ebay because with listing fees, % of selling price and paypal fees selling is expensive and it's a lot of work too:think:Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -

I'm glad I'm not alone in cuddling a hairy one!
right, so I've been looking and epilators. (I ned the roll eyes smilie). It seems tome as hey aren't so cheap I'm better getting an all singing dancing one so that if I like it I have all the features I might want. They seem to last a good long while...so the Braun silk epil thingy with all the bells and whistles? I like the idea of using it in the shower...for open pores and ease of cleaning.....and it has a different head for ''sensitve'' areas...
it has no reviews, any one used it?
I think mine's a silk epil but with no bells or whistles and no alternative heads. I only use it on my legs though, but I'm trying to pluck up courage to try the underarms soon.
It was around £30 I think and I must have had it at least 5 years, so it's saved a fortune in waxing.Mortgage to clear asap! - [STRIKE]£148,874.38 [/STRIKE]as at 1 May 2013£79,176.55 May 2018£59,516.06 July 2019November 2020 £35,914.620 -

I know I should use them up but I'd rather someone else used them and I had a bit of money - so £5 into the money made on cosmetics front and 6 less things cluttering up my house!
To be honest, if you have so many things that you know it will be impossible to use them up before they go off, then it's the sensible thing to do.

Was in Boots earlier today and saw it - it's quite a nice little gift but I didn't need any of their make-up so left it on the shelf :A
However I did get a L'Oreal Microdermabrasion set on clearance for £2.99 at Superdrug which I couldn't resist
Yes, I know, I did bad, but I use them religiously and am about to use my last tube0 -
Thanks lin.c - if you needed it then that's cool.
I find Max Factor mascara really good. Used to be able to use Rimmel but I think they must have changed the formulation as it seems to make my eyes sore. £15 is a bit of b*ggar as the mascara is about £9.99 mmm - how do I get up to the £15 with stuff I need? You see this is how they get you.
