jacjacjac, I'm terrified of ebay. I make DH buy anything I want from there, and have so much I could sell, but I'm just to scared I'll get it wrong.
  • Sonee, have a good hard look through your stash and ask yourself if there are any products in there that will subustute the things you are wanting to buy. i would say you can have the things you NEED but resist them if you only WANT them;)

Morning ladies-I'm going to get booted out of this thread -don't blame me though blame boots.

    They have reduced bio oil
They have reduced the lee stafford box of tricks
They have got the frontcover rainbow eyes reborn on offer for a limited time
They have a maxfactor gwp -I love maxfactor gwp & I use 3 products regularly
and I desperately need/want/will use all of the above.

I have a £3 off mascara voucher for maxfactor
I only have about £20 in points left as I spent £60 worth on baby items
I am almost out of bio oil and need some more for bump
I gave my last front cover set to sis.

    Am I allowed?:)

Bio oil for bump seems important...as for the rest, you are talking about the prices of it, but not whether you need that stuff.

I could be soft and say yeah go ahead, or I could help you stick to the challenge and say hang on a minute!

Well, the bio oil maybe, but it's very cheap in H&B atm too anyway!

You did have a "free spend" the other day, was the YSL gift set a pressie or for yourself? If it was for you, maybe you could prioritise today's wishlist against the YSL set and go with one lot or the other.

Are the points burning a hole in your pocket? They could be useful for essential babystuff in the next couple of months.

Remember, what we say on this challenge; there'll always be bargains and offers around.

    So, toughlove from me!:D

What are you scared of Jac, the Ebaying process or parting with your goodies?

I think a bit of both, but more the whole process and being organised enough to get it all sent on time etc... I would like some extra cash though, so should just do it...

Thanks for all the cleansing tips - I love this thread!

My biggest tip with ebaying is weigh the item with packaging first and check price on royal mail website so you give an accurate p&p cost - I add 20p to the price for packaging but I have lots stashed away so hardly ever have to buy new stuff.

I'm always more trusting of bidding if postage isn't a seemingly arbituary number (that seems a bit big!) and it means you won't underestimate and have to spend the sales money on postage!

I'm nearing the end of another body butter.

also, a review on Dove pro age deodorant: I would not buy it again. I am a very light sweat-er, for me anti-antiperspirant is a nicety rather than a necessity most of the month. Pro age deodorant smells sweeter than the amazing body butter, but I quite liked the scent: however, I noticed yesterday that with the warmth of the body the smell turns a bit BO ish! Hardly ideal at all. I was hoping it might be as great as the body butter, but its not! If I were a heavy perspirer I wouldn't even finish the bottle: I'd be too paranoid, I might not even finish it myself.

loving this thread by the way: dipping into it everyday now to help me keep on the straight and narrow.

E-Bay; I'd suggest that you only list a couple of items at a time, will take longer to get rid, but you'll get there in the end. V.good tip about working out how much the postage will be; as I buyer I'm def put off by a over the top postage cost. As a seller, I always send recorded and try to split this costs 50/50 with the buyer; really worth it IMO as sadly, there are chancers out there who will say they have not received via regular post.

If you can only get to the post office on certain days, put that in your blurb. Just saves the stress of buyers asking when you are going to post (if an auction finished on a Monday and you can't post until Saturday, that's seems a long time to a buyer).

Schedule your listing to fall at a good time: i.e not in the middle of Corrie, during the day, during the time of feeding the family. I try to end my listing between 7 - 7.30 pm.

Don't compete with yourself: if you have 2 (say) face creams to sell, list them one at a time. If you really want to list 2 items that compliment each other, i.e RoC day cream and a night cream, offer postal discount on the 2nd item.

Do you homework, scope Ebay to see what other sellers are charging for the same product, perhaps put them on your watching list to see if/what sells and at what price.

Finally, the on-line Community offer a wealth of advice and support, often your question has been asked before (a bit like, but not as good as MSE really!).

    Hope this helps :D

I've sold 6 products, some minis, randoms things I've been given/got free.

I know I should use them up but I'd rather someone else used them and I had a bit of money - so £5 into the money made on cosmetics front and 6 less things cluttering up my house!

Also ebayers, keep your eyes and ears open for free listing days and REMEMBER Paypal and Ebay fees. I got a bit of a shock when I got my bill in this month.
