I am single and will have nothing to do on Sunday (as most of my mates are attached and my family is very far away), what do you think I should do to keep myself out of Boots and other tempting places (which I may visit so as to take my mind off my singleness on Valentines Day)...???

Film day in...face mask, good girly dvd & food you couldn't eat on a date ...chinese with chop sticks or spaghetti with a red sauce or a waggamama style noodle soup...I love it, always end up splattered though!

ouch! you must have a super dooper high tolerence for pain. I can only do my legs and that's more than enough for me thank you very much!

i have 5 five kids pain doesnt scare me;)

actually i prefer to epilate my underarms as i hate having to leave them till they get long enough to wax, i find being dark haired if i shave i still end up with a shadow under the skin and the more you epilate the weaker the the root becomes and the regrowth seems less.

I bought the Glamour mag yesterday for DD and he obviously overheard me talking to her about it. The offer was for the refillable perfume 8ml and receive a free shower gel 200ml all in a black organza bag, I was gushing at what a bargain this was :D

thanks for the remind, i've just nipped down the paper shop and got a copy of glamour - i told dh he could get me this for valentines as im out of angel and hes fretting as i told him i didnt need any more smellies etc as i was trying to use them up

Turn that around: if you can live of your stash util this time next year just THINK about how much money you'll save! Its amazing!

i agree lir im guilty of not using my stuff because proir to joining this thread i was just plain lazy and didnt pamper myself so the stuff was just going to waste and building up, im really enjoying the challenge of looking after myself better and using up the products i have and of course by reading the comments recomendations and likes and dislikes of others on here when i actually do get down on my stash i will have a better idea of what to buy for myself (or hint for as gifts;))

    ive been really good today
the hideous bottle of mixed body lotions is now used up:T
this morning i used a pack of root retouch, a face pack, a sachet of foot soak, a sachet of foot scrub, a sachet of cooling foot reviver, a sample sachet of revitalift eye cream, a sachet of shampoo and a sachet of hot oil hair mask. AND ive painted my nails again.

That sounds lovely... I will definitely be avoiding places that involve spending money on cosmetics etc and loved up couples ;)

The other thing is to have a really good practical thing to achieve before settling down to pampering and slobbishness: clean every shoe you own, all the skirting boards in your house....sort out the understairs cupboard, or lean the windows Something that will make a difference but you might not get to otherwise....

That's a really good idea, I should also set Sunday aside for ebaying some of my stash and other bits and bobs I have hoarded over the years... I have been procrastinating about doing this for ages and ages!!

  • I've recycled old phones for Boots points too. Better than having them in a drawer somewhere.

Can I ask how this worked? I've seen this in the offers at the atm, but always just skimmed past it. Do you get quite a fair amount of points?
Hope you don't mind me asking....I've got 2 old mobiles just sitting around the house..

No it IS a great plan, because then at the end of the dy you have something to feel you've got done, instead of feeling that particular blue mood of NYE and Valentine's day wishing things were different. Enjoy them as they are and guard against ''lonely regrets''...being able to think you live a life in which you, alone and with out the help of a no good boyfriend can...tackle the understairs cupboard and survive, and win, is a strangely powerful feeling. :o

Enjoy your freedom! Being part of a couple is not all hearts and flowers, I've been with my OH for 24 years (We met very young) and could cheerfully kill him sometimes. :rotfl: there's too much pressure on people to be with someone else on Valentine's day, I love my own company when I get the chance.

Have a massive pampering session, use your favourite stuff as a treat, watch what you want on TV, eat loads of chocolate. Sounds like bliss to me. :)

  • Thanks guys for your great suggestions, I think I will pamper, declutter, ebay and eat good healthy food... Maybe I should also start my spring exercise plan too (walking/running etc)... :)
