Just had my bath. Slathered myself with Deadseasource de-stress ginger souffle. I'm not keen on the ginger scent which is probably why I havent used it before now. I think I got it for my birthday (Aug) in 2008 :o Actually its not so bad. Just letting it sink in and I'll stick foot balm on. Are we all wearing socks tonight? ;)
I'll be wearing socks over the remains of the Body Shop hemp foot cream sample that the nice lady put in my bag when I exchanged some out-of-date items for some nice shiny new ones :)
I LOVE ginger... both the smell and the taste! I'm really jealous at the ginger souffle! I'm also trying to convince myself not to buy the Aldi ginger shampoo. Luckily I live a long way from an Aldi store :)
  • I’ve not been on most of the day and I’ve now got pages and pages to catch up on!! (finally done after over 45 mins of speed reading lol) posts to follow:

  • My ebay stuff did quite well, 10 out of the 14 items sold so I’ve very happy, £60 odd before postage and that’s just on a few unopened toiletries, an empty hatbox and a couple of bottles of used perfume. Thanks to Tara for urging me to have a go xx But anyway I’ve been wrapping and invoicing (and debating about combined postage) oh and listing more stuff all evening so now I’m in bed I’m going to catch up…

PYNM well it lasted no longer than a day ggrrrrr but I’m going to keep at it J

I hate No7 mascara and it costs almost as much as the excellent Lancome ones. For cheaper Boots brands I recommend Rimmel Glam Eyes or Max Factor Masterpiece max. They are both close to false lash effect though so if you perfer the natural look don't buy them.

Funny isn't it how different people like different things, I got a mini in a no7 GWP and I loved it, it had a funny brush but it made my lashes look awesome. I'm not sure I'd pay full price for it though, I usually use rimal one and that's as good (well it's close enough and more to the point it's cheaper!)

I have just been to Aldi (for food) but I did sniff some of the shampoos that people have been mentioning. The 69p ones were coconut, ginger and something else. The ginger smelled nice but sickly, and the others didn't really tempt me. My mum has used the coconut one before and she said it's good, but I can't vouch for that.

I was in aldi Monday and tried to ignore those ginger showergels/shampoos, I love ginger stuff (except the bets bees which smells like washing up liquid!), original souce do a good ginger one, I think it's mens but that never stopped me

I wash my brushes with Johnson's baby shampoo. I wouldn't bother with expensive brush cleaners... my MAC brushes are fine and have been washed many times using baby shampoo.

I think I must be a skanky minger because I've never washed make up brush in my life (oh the shame) I only use one for eye shadow though, fingers for foundation/concealer etc and fingers for my cream blush. Mayb I should throw my eye shadow brush away and invest in a new one ASAP

I have a dilemma today. £40 for a leg wax eyebrow threading and mini facial or I could just get eyebrows done for £5 and do my legs myself.Since I'm trying to restrict toiletry spending I have also noticed that beauty treatments are getting pricey &I would rather the save the money for baby.Has anyone tried veet in shower cream -I could get that with my boots points therefore no cash spend -I do have wax strips and razors but can't reach and stretch because of baby bump.decisons decisions???

I invested in an elipilator (spelling?) It's make good work of my legs and I'm what we call a hairy beast (dark and thick :()

Have you got a college near you that might be able to do it cheaper?

Anyone else get the Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B shower gel/body lotion/perfume deal a few weeks back?

I saw it on grabbit but I didn't even look at a thread, too much tempation for me seeing everyones threads who have bought and are very excited about it

Sounds like it was worth every penny though - good luck with interview result ;)

I'm exactly the same. I live alone and I get extremely bored as uni is only eight hours a week fulltime. I fill all my time with shopping you can barely fit in my room . It makes me quite embarrassed if i'm honest....

I'm a student too...it's amazing how much time we've got to fill betwen class when really we should be studying ;) i'm the same, but I'm now trying to fill my time with other things, I've started a blog, I spend some time on here, very recently started ebaying, crafts, it's quite cool getting to know what I like and don't like instead of just wandering round the shops all the time. I must be hones though and say that I can't see me changing my love of chairty shops/car boots/jumble sales/flea markets any time soon

  • I probably shouldn't ask, but does anyone on here NEED a skinnie voucher? I've got 2 and they don't run out until 23 February. I'm definitely not using them.

Is there anything that can be bought for bang on £5 or cheaper? if so I'd like one if they haven't already gone x

i got an epilator when avon had an offer on and use that for underarms

ouch! you must have a super dooper high tolerence for pain. I can only do my legs and that's more than enough for me thank you very much!

    They still smell awful though.

I can't agree more, I remember years ago when i was at school my hai used to grow back before the smell had gone...at least the smell doesn't linger for days any more

Oh before any of you think I live off the government/dont do uni/ etc I don't. I do read a hell of a lot and I have around £160 a week to spend, I never spend it all though! I do loads of self study and read up on things that don't have anything to do with my course... Looked for a job nothing around here!

Oh my goodness...:( I have no where nearly as much to spend a week after i've paid my share into the house with OH, paid my mobile phone and personal outgoings, food, travel, and I’m teetotal so no my cash doesn’t get spent on booze, I take my own lunch, travel cup with my morning tea in it (and when times are really hard a flask for later in the day)...you're a very lucky student to have that much cash to splash :)

For those of you who need a tinted moisturiser, how about mixing foundation with lotion? Voila, your own tinted moisturiser! Could be a good way of using up the foundation that's too dark for you.

I do that and it's fab, I made the mistake of doing my last lot through with some dregs of night cream and if I put on too much I can end up looking a bit shiny

    Soap & Glory wipes

You're in for a treat with these, I've been using a packet and they are fab. Dunno that I'd buy them at full price though, I think I got these with a extra points voucher

Wow you've got loads of points...so at least the unplanned spends were neautral ;)

wow, how did you end up with so many points? I think over the past 1000-years that I've had my Boots card, I've only accumulated 1200 points.

Boosting ;) I managed to get £53 worth over the xmas period and I didn't spend anywhere near the amount of cash I would have had to to get them.

(I miss boosting a little bit I must confess :()

Re: tinted moisturiser... I've never tried one properly, but I did once try mixing some powder foundation with moisturiser, and then put it on my face - it looked like plaster

Would a decent tinted moisturiser cover redness on my face? As that's the only reason I wear powder foundation... I hardly wear any, just a tiny dusting to take the redness away from around my mouth/cheeks/nose.

Dunno about covering the redness. but I mix liquid foundation with moisturiser, never used powdered before

We ran out of shampoo this morning! End of the stash was reached, so I took myself past boots clearance to see if there was any trevor sorbie left ( there was)

The M&S coconut "scrub" has now gone, most of it slicked down the drain it was so plasticky. WIBA- NO NO NO NO NO- total carp.

was v restrained in Boots clearance- got 2x TS shampoo ( soothe, I know we both like this one) and a small body scrub to see what thats like for 20p. ( one "go" so prob a bit overpriced when I think about it ) I grabbed loads of "stuff" and then looked at it and put it all back, firstly by smelling the shower gel ( urgh no thanks) and then looking at the amount ( do I need 7 shampoos at the mo? NO!!) So I just got 2.

Im actually rather skint this month, so every quid I spend on toils I DONT NEED is a quid I really really need somewhere else in the budget.

I'm so envious that you live close enough to boots clearence to just pop in

Well done for not going mental in there though, I know I would have!! so I guess its a blessng them really that I don't live close enough to pop in

Today I've been "pampering myself" by slathering on lots and lots of Sudocrem. Oh yes.

Before you start thinking I've discovered a little-known beauty secret, the reason I've been using this horrible product is because I came out in a huge rash the other day, all over my chest, neck and ears. It seems the cause was my Lush Vanillary perfume. I went into Lush and explained, and even though I had no receipt or box, they gave me a full refund in cash!!

So that's one less thing to use up, and £25 back in my pocket

    That's a result, well done

  • Are we all wearing socks tonight?

I wear thick socks every night, nothing to do with the cream an everything todo with keeping warm cos it's FREEZING in our house! (me and OH are too tight to put on the heating unless to have to and often have a coal fire instead, but that doesn't heat the bedroom up BRRRR)

I haven't used anything up today and (to add to the stash) my Body Shop 3x hemp body butter order came today! But I will be eBaying the tea tree oil blemish stick and the free mascara to help pay for it. I am also eBaying LOTS of my stash and am feeling very positive! I just sold a serum this evening and will be eBaying one of my No7 GWPs as well (will keep the other one as I love the chain mail clutch bag). I do not need two!!

Thank you tara you've just reminded me of 2 more things i can ebay, the freebie mascara from bodyshop (got before this challenge) and the chain mail clutch bag, I've got no need for it I'm just stashing it in a draw because that's where it lives now!

    tara747 wrote: »
I also went into Boots and had a sniff of the S&G sugar scrub... oh dear Lord, the smell was just heavenly!!! I resisted... just. But I may be tempted to buy some with points while it's on 3for2...

The mist you madly one? I :heart that: am desperate for some, I've gone none in stash (and no other scrubs) but I have got lots of other stuff to use up first I think.

p.s. (hoping everyone has gone to bed by now and nobody reads this)

I bought a Sanctuary luxury bath float (full size) for £1 and a Bourjois lipstick for £2.50 on clearance in Boots today... paid with points but still feel guilty!!
I'm up and I'm reading tut tut but at least you were spend neutral

Although I might save my points for an epilator after today....if I'm brave enough.

Do it, will be worth every penny :)

Oh aye, I am lucky and do donate a lot to a charity that helped me when I was younger! I'm using a mango body butter on my feet...don't know how long i've had it though!
