I totally hated my Bosch machine, the engineer was constantly at mine during the first year replacing some part or other. I have an Hotpoint now, 7KG load, and its great.

Could you not rent a machine in the meantime?

  • I m interested in this thread, as I'll soon be moving back into my own flat :) Last time I had a separate washer/dryer which was great. On the days I was ill I could still get washing/drying done in one day. But I know they're expensive to run.

    My mate has the
    Hotpoint Ultima WDD960G Washer Dryer

which she said is great :) Thinking of getting it. She says combined washer/dryers have really improved

MY MIL has the ultima washer dryer and although she has nothing but praise for its washing capabilities she is very dissapointed with its drying she says the drum is just not big enough tp dry the clothes properly so it either takes ages and they are really creased or they are still slightly damp when they come out.

I suppose it would depend if you have loads of washing to do IE a family amount or if its just you with the odd load. Mil has a large family.

  • I did wonder about that - there is just me and I do about 3 loads a week

My Beko has also died... well I think it has... I am now considering a Bosch thanks to this thread! (I would love a Miele but there is no way I could justify spending that amount of money!!)

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    hi,

My sis told me about Comet-clearance site

She got her washer from there, it was clearance because the plastic drawer bit was slightly marked. I cant remember what she paid but she saved a fair bit of money.

I get the feeling the OP is on a very limited budget. they may correct me if I am wrong, but, there are some good machines at the lower end of the price range if you shop carefully. my mum thinks nothing of paying over £500 for a washing machine - and so far my budget ones have outlasted hers. and she is on her own and until recently I was doing up to 3 loads a day! now its just me and OH and my Samsung prob thinks its on holiday with only 3-5 loads a week!
its three years old and as i said - Ive got no complaints - its a good machine!

I am on a budget - this will be my second washing machine in 10 years. First time I bought a cheap one, as I had a baby and needed it ASAP. The one that just broke cost me £350ish from Comet (instore) and was the second machine I bought, it lasted longer than the first one so I was planning on spending about £350-£500 this time, it just depends on how much I can save between now and the Easter Weekend!

All opinions are welcome as it helps making a more researched purchase
