I need a new washing machine

My washing machine has died a loud death about 2 weeks ago, my poor indesit WIL133 didn't even manage to see its 5th birthday with us
I've looked into having it repaired but its going to work out cheaper for me to buy a new machine.I desperately need to replace it as I'm handing washing stuff ATM rather than going to the laundrette at £3.50 per machine plus spinning (30p a time) and then trying to get it home still damp or sending it to family who are all on water meters
I often wash double blankets or quilts (think sick child, spilt lotions, mud etc
) so need one which can cope with off balance loads, and a fairly good spin speed/rating would be handy as I use a tumble drier when I can't hang stuff out to dry on the washing line. I do anywhere from 4-10 loads a week including towels.
Any recommendations please? Whatever I choose I need to save up for it as all my credit options are maxed out

Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

I like my Zannusi WM, it spins at 1400. I do about 15 loads a week. So far I have had it for about 17 months with no problems - a miracle for me. I think it cost about £280. However I wouldn't personally wash a duvet in it. I would take that to the laundrette however have washed everything else with no problems.0

In the short-term have a look on www.freegle.co.uk and you might get a temporary replacement for free.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I recently bought a Bosch WAE24468GB from Dixons on-line for £386 including delivery and removal of our old machine.
It was £469.99 plus delivery in Comet.
It has a 7kg load and spins at 800/1000/1200.
It's quite economic on water usage and has a 15 minute quickwash which is great for freshening stuff up that hasn't been worn for very long.
Re the drying problem, I bought some expensive Egyptian cotton shhets, pillowcases and duvet covers from Dunelm Mills then found that they couldn't be tumble dried (I didn't want to risk ruining them).
I bought THIS:

It was £29.99 when I bought it a couple of months ago.
It fits in my spare room and is good when it's not fit to hang bedding out.
My sister recently bought a Zanussi ZWF16581W which has a 7kg wash load and a spin speed of 1600rpm, she's pleased with that.0 -
We have a bosch as well (wasn't as much or as fancy as pollycats)

It knocks the spots off any we've had previously and mostly the clothes come out nearly dry (which saves on time/money as well).
Only two and a half years old so can't really tell you if it will last but it hasn't missed a beat so far.
p.s. if i go home tonight and it has exploded water all over the kitchen i'm blaming you for asking

I've got a bosch one too, and it's done 2 years of constant washing, including duvets, etc and never had a problem!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Another vote for Bosch here i have had bosch machines for the last six years and the only reason i have ever replaced them was to get a newer model never had a problem with them. Drums are a very good size and they are normally A rated machines.
I bought my first one (second hand) from the british heart foundation £100 delivered and i had it for 3 yrs without a problem as i say only reason i got rid was to upgrade to a newer faster spin model :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

while Bosch are excellent - I cant complain about my Samsung - bought in an argos sale for I think around £150 plus delivery. only 1200 spin speed but it gets the job done!
son has a Beko bought early last year from Currys for £129.99 (in sale) with a 1400 spin speed - handwash and quick cycle. large drum - you CAN get a double duvet in and so far - nothing but praise for the machine - economical on water and leccy with I think either a AA or AAA rating (check out currys website)
I had Indesit for over ten years so bought another one - which lasted five years! now I hear they are made by a different firm under the same name and are not as good as they were.0 -
Miele are amazing washing machines and will last 20 years etc if looked after BUT they're expensive so might be difficult to save up for.
Bosch are also meant to be good (German manufacturing!) and you should be able to get one a bit cheaper than a miele.
too many comps..not enough time!0
