This is exactly why I wont by knickers from any shop that allows customers to return or exchange them.
It is well known in the model industry that they buy sexy undies from M&S wear them for shoots (with the tags tucked in) and then return them for a refund.

    Yuk!!

Idiots , they could sell them for 10 times their value on Ebay if they included a pic of the model wearing them ;) .....no I wouldn't buy them but heard this sort of thing ( should that be thong ) happens.

OP , email woolies and explain how inconvenient it is to return to the store.

Would that apply to dirty underpants as well. :rotfl:

Thanks, everyone, for all the advice and for helping me to see the funny side!

OH took the knickers back today for a refund and didn't get so much as an apology. The cashier was completely unfazed - OH got the impression this kind of thing happens all the time there and wouldn't be at all surprised if the dirty pants are back on the shelves by now. I've said it before and I'll say it again: what is wrong with these people?!!

So, if the though of dressing your daughter in second-hand dirty pants disgusts you, don't buy kids' clothes from Brixton Woolies!

I had the same problem with a swimmin costume from Tesco last year, and It HAD been worn, the smell from it was revolting, only realised it once we took it out the carrier bag at home. The sticky bit at the gusset had been removed, and placed back on. I called Tesco, took the costume back, and barely got an apology! All I can say is that I wish the person who had tried on the costume first had the decency to have a bath or shower first, or had at least kept their drawers on lol!

I used to work with a young lady who loved partying a lot. She often bought new dresses at good department stores, M&S being a favourite.

So, she would wear the dress for the occasion, be careful not to get it dirty and then take it off as soon as she got home, air it properly and then take it back to the store, with receipt and all, and say that she tried it again at home with the shoes etc. but she decided against it. She always got a refund.

Why don't I have the mentality to do that? I'd have saved a fortune over the years...

The funny thing is, I once had a p-t job at Woolies, and after that I'd NEVER buy anything edible from there, especially not the unwrapped pick 'n' mix (believe me - you don't want to know).

    Oh...go on

It could start a whole new topic....:D

To think that in Japan, they have special vending machines to enable men to buy dirty knickers (allegedly worn by schoolgirls). Perhaps Woolworths are getting ready to sell a profitable new product.
