someome somewhere (probably here) reported their coupon slots being taped up because someone was putting trolley loads of stuff through and paying nothing by using the quickread vouchers, as a result everyone at the store now has to pass the voucher to staff to have if checked,

if you are using vouchers on these please do not take the p!ss or we'll all suffer, i use vouchers but gauge the amount i use based on the staff's reaction to my first / second, and never use more more than 1/3 - 1/2 of my shop depending on the amount i'm buying.

EDIT; and lo other folks greed effects us all - my asda no longer accept any printed vouchers, self scan or otherwise

4 self scan in dewsbury for trolleys or baskets. 1 member of staff to make sure u only use 10% coupons, which is fine by me. 10% better than nothing!

I tried a self scan checkout in Tesco, I bought some printer paper for my coursework, was quite fun actually, felt like working there, but not if you have an entire trolley of goods and products, imagine the hassle! So it may not be a good idea if a store chooses to use only self service ones, perhaps they are cutting costs!

Used them for the first time yesterday and got stomped on by the Lady guarding the tills. Had only put in one coupon before she ripped them off me (yes almost assaulted me) and very loudly told me Asda didn't take coupons.
I just laughed at her and walked off (not paying the bill) and let her sort out the bill on the till.

Did shake a little after I was out the store, but felt quite proud of myself.

  • Good for you!! Why on earth would they provide an option to use vouchers if they don't accept them any more??:T

Left my £120 shopping once because the cashier wouldn't take £100 cheque (with £100 guarantee card) and £20 cash. After arguing for 15 minutes with 3 kids in tow - I just left the trolley. Fuming when I left!!!
Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies
  • they also have them at fulwood preston lancs - i tried a 20p coupon & it didnt recognise that i had put in the slot & i had to get help !
