Which lots of us nearly done over the weekend as a result of those two idiots :mad: Yet when we retaliate, we get told to behave and all the while the real trouble-maker walks away with posting privileges still intact! :huh::huh::huh:

I still don't get the mods at times, they expect us to waste time emailing (not even a quick online form) yet when we do we sit and watch the idiots causing havoc all weekend and have to bear with it...

Why should we bear with someone ruining perfectly decent threads? Maybe, just maybe the answer here would be to allow the BG's the facility to temporary PPR evident trouble-makers until site forum can actually intervene being the BG's are here most the time anyway?

That's my idea, I spend over 50 hours a week on here (sadly enough) and would happily take part in such... as I am sure would plenty of others if it meant sustaining the site to its usual high standard.

Fermi - can you see if this can be done, would you guys be happy to be part time mods? Surely there is a better solution than risking losing all the good members?

It's a bit of a baptism by fire, isn't it!

I don't frequent the DFW or BR boards, and only ended up on the old thread because it was constantly on the first page of 'new posts'...i first clocked it a few weeks ago, read a bit of it then wandered off, but i kept coming back for a peek over the last couple of days...talk about a car crash! (Not all posters, i hasten to add, not by a long shot!) I dunno tho...there's something about about a person constantly shooting themselves in the foot that makes compulsive viewing! (As much as it shames me to (sp?) admit it!) Still, has as been pointed out, at least it was keeping them busy here, rather than causing havoc elsewhere. Long may it continue! Vive la new thread! :money:

Hi everybody.


Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

Thankyou it was more for everyone else, I was a mere bystander.

Sorry to pepa if she felt I was annoyed at her for opening a new Troll post, far from it. This site helped me find my voice and in a way it makes you very protective.

I went the wrong way around trying to explain how I felt and for that I am sorry.

It is good to have a new Troll post (you can read it quicker!!)
