have we sold our house for free?

:think:We have just agreed to sell our house through a London based company who say they use investors to buy property.
The offer was 10,000 under the asking price which we were happy to accept. The deal involves paying 1% plus vat of the house value to this company which is to be refunded on completon of sale. This is to complete within 120 days or we will also be refunded. We have been told it will complete in 6-8 weeks.
My solicitor could not find any other solicitor in n.ireland who had dealt with this company who are only trading since sept 2009.
We have sent this money off via credit card to protect ourselves if the service is not provided.However this is so different and so easy in a current slow market I am anxious that it is too good to be true.
Has anyone sold their home successfully this way ? They have made this offer without ever asking for access to the house. The more I write the more mad it seems!
Any input or awareness of such companies would be much appreciated.

p.s. they say they make their money by charging the investor 2%
I'll let the forum know if all goes well as it will be fab for us if it does and for other vendors.fingers crossed!!

Umm, sounds like you've instead paid rather a lot of money to not sell your house! But you paid by credit card so that's ok, someone else will carry the loss...
