Morning all
Boy, yesterday was manic! Meeting went well but then the phone didn't stop and it was 9pm before I even got to think about dinner so it was a really trashy one - bacon, beans and oven chips! But once in a while won't hurt.
Am still fighting something. Am a bit snotty today but I can cope. Hopefully today will be quieter. Mind you, DS phoned last night and has persuaded me to drive him to Southampton on Saturday in exchange for lunch. He came off his bicycle on the way to work on Monday. He lost it on a patch of ice on a corner.
Fortunately he's not badly hurt - just bruised. He says he's watched the incident on the CCTV tape and it was quite impressive! But, his beloved iphone isn't well. There's no sign of damage to it, but it's not happy. So he's hoping that Apple will replace it for free. Hence the need to go to Soton - it's the nearest Apple store place. We shall take BB and make a half day of it with a walk in the forest on the way back.
But, off to bathe and do the work thing... catch you all laterI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning ladies
I also want to tackle the sock pile.......that awful job of pairing up and wondering where the heck all the odd ones go to. Although I am getting to the point where I will pair up what I can and throw the rest. I am sure we are not all walking around in bare feet, so we must have more pairs than we really need, even with the sock mountain's contents! And it will make a big space in the utility room in the process!
I mentuioned this to my steop father the other day and he has a 'sure fire cure' for losing odd socks. When he takes them off, he puts one over his hand and then puts the second sock over the first, so one is inside the other. He then washes them like that, dries them like that and returns them to his sock drawer like that. Hey presto, no odd socks.
Hope this helps someone!

Morning all. 5 more get up days. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
DS is in year 2, he'll be 7 on valentine's day, but he's very young for his age. He's intelligent and articulate, but we've taken care to try and shelter him from ugly behaviour (I have seen too many monkey-see, monkey-do situations), he's also easily led. Great.
I'm hoping that if we nip it in the bud now, it'll be ok in future. DH is firmly behind this decision, we talked it through tonight and he's more than happy to handle it. He's already informed DS that this boy won't be allowed in our house any more, nor he in theirs. It feels good to have him on board, it makes me feel more confident.
You could start to drip-feed him information about making choices - choosing appropriate friends and distancing himself from inappropriate behaviours and circumstances.
For all I rail on about my DS he doesn't smoke, drink, hang around on street corners or get into fights. I know his friends, they come here. He's not perfect but he'll do (but DON'T tell him I said that!)Mine have had bats.. which flew around the house, racing pigeons pilfered from a loft a few gardens up the street.. mortified I was.. our record of 6 mice in 24 hours is yet to be beaten.. oh no .. just remembered the day Cracker had 23.. nd the one left living was hugely pregnant.. I swear he was waiting for her to pop!, a rat.. pet not wild!! Fish froma neighbours pond!! Frogs, a toad,.. no princess as yet! hundreds of butterflies and the best to date has to be.. the grass snake!!!

WM (towels) done on E7...for some reason I cannot bring myself to plonk a coat on and schlep up the garden at 5 am to bung them in the TD so I will wait until th eload I have in now is almost done then start with the TD then I can 'run on' the drying and not bother with the cooling cycle...a bit of devious folding and I'm done. DDs school trouser don't need ironing, f'rinstance
(flyladies now panic as Valli has had some kind of alien abduction with mind-altering effects!)
Sarah - worry not BUT hoaxes abound...I checks snopes and deletes
A poster got FLAMED to a cinder last year somewhere on this site when she INSISTED a bag had been stolen in John Lewis when a lady (who her sister KNEW;)) had gone to the toilet and left her bag OUTSIDE the cubicle on a hook provided by John Lewis for that very purpose.
Valli Towers is looking good...Valli herself - sat here in nightie and manky (but oh-so-warm) fleece as I am 'waiting for the kids to go to school'.
Note time of post.
School starts at 8:30
