Ok girls, thanks for the help. DH is home for a week off work from tomorrow at 2.00pm onwards, so he'll be here as big bad back up! He takes no carp, so we'll make plans, keep DS busy and be as far away from here as we can.

Any ideas on how to avoid him at the school run?

My thoughts would have been if he is around your home then you make it very clear he comes in on your terms or not at all. Have you spoken with his gran at all?

I have, but it was a bit weird TBH. He'd spent some time outside playing with DS before and then one day, he turned up at our house after school. DS asked him if he was going to get his football, but he replied "I can't. Nan's gone out and taken the keys, so I'm locked out." (It's not just me that find this weird, is it? Is nine old enough to be out on your own? Am I overprotective of my boy?). Anyway, he ended up staying until 6 that evening. In the end, I sent him home. I don't know if his nan was back or if she knew where he was, but the next day I decided it was probably time to introduce myself!

Well, I went over with this boy to say hello. He knocked on the door and she unlocked and unchained it, but was very cagey. She wouldn't look me in the eye and didn't offer her name until I asked her outright. She only responded with curt answers to direct questions and even then, she stared at the boy whilst answering me. I got the feeling she's used to having people at her door complaining about him. :o

Even now that I've introduced myself, if we pass each other in the street, she doesn't speak or acknowledge me, but averts her gaze. They haven't been here long enough for me to judge whether this is normal behaviour for her or if I'm special! :rotfl:

I've now changed my password and checked that only friends can see my profile but it always was only friends that could view. Not sure what else to do now.

When i checked this morning i had one from someone on my friends list that had the same link as one of the ones on mine. I deleted it and didn't click to open.

Should i just close the account down and start again??
My brother had his FB account hacked recently (someone opened a chat window with one of his friends, and ended up asking for money). He has changed ALL his passwords on everything, and closed his FB account.

By the time I got home, my pedometer said i had walked 89 steps (its 3 miles ) so I guess it isnt working - only bought the thing last week. Now have to go back to swap it and I cant find the receipt :mad:!
Are you wearing it in the right place? We had this discussion last year, and you need to make sure that it is on your hip, not round by your tummy button!

Phone calls over for the day. And I managed a HHI so only one thing left to iron. Ten minutes break and then I need to do some writing while I can still remember the last phone call!

    DD has just exploded

Well not litralley but the bedroom now smells of dirty nappies, the bathroom smells of sick and I have thrown stuff all over the place trying to deal with it

Think I need a HHC 6.30 to try and sort it out as I have the new childminder coming round in the morning to sign contracts and I don't want her thinking I'm a scruff :o

This sounds really weird to me - I don't see how she can leave a nine year old boy not only unsupervised, but locked out of his own home for hours on end. That sounds awful. And her behavior makes me think there is something strange going on. I really don't like the sound of this and would give social services a ring. If there is nothing amiss, then they will find out and if there is something wrong then you have done the right thing.

Vanilla don’t worry about the spam messages, I won’t hold it against you! Glad to know who JB is cos I’d forgotten it was you and kept wondering who you were!

I've had a lovely nap this afternoon and woke up with a croaky voice! While I was sleeping DH has washed up loads and tidied the LR floor so it's much nicer in here now. We are going away on Sunday until the Saturday after and while we are gone we have a flat inspection, so need to leave it nice and tidy. It will be lovely to come home to as well! :)

The one I have specifically states that I should wear it at the front; however, just to be sure I have worn it at the hip too - neither makes any difference. It only registers one step in ten and has been doing so for the alst three or four days, whereas before it was fine.

This is totally weird and if it continues, I suggest you cinsider contacting your local social/children's services department (spoken as a former foster carer for 23 years).

  • Thanks for all the reponses to DD2's scan. She's up at her dad's so is quiet thank the lord! I'm sure that girl breathes through her ears as she can't breathe the normal way and talk as fast as she does!!! LOL It's like listening to a monologue. Will tell her Pigpen what you said about the midwife - as she certainly can turn on the tears at the drop of a hat! Looked up private scan could get it done for £85 if the baby was laying correctly but I don't want to know sex anyway so I'm thinking why should I pay? Now that's a bit mean I think on my part. Her dad doesn't want to know the sex either so am sure he won't pay it either, unless she harps on constantly to him so in the end he will just to shut her up!
Forgot to say DS is back in the UK, saw him briefly on Sunday, he'd travelled overnight on the Rotterdam to Hull ferry, then drove here then on to Catterick. Spoken since but he's on exercise now until Saturday (blooming cold to sleep outside in my opinion) and then has 12 hours off before going to Salisbury Plain on another exercise.
DD1 still enjoying the job at the other sister hotel of the company (ramada). don't know whether DH is as he's having to take her to work everyday!!! As would take her 2 1/2 hours on a bus (well several changes), so she better get her finger out and re-start her driving lessons.

Flying - errr finally loaded the WM, emptied said WM and put either in TD or radiators. Also stirred slow cooker contents, but don't really fancy eating it!!! LOL
Maralum - agree with the others tell him to take a hike - but nicely obviously! 3 years is a big difference at their ages. He may listen to your DH better than you. If your concerned about his welfare do as Rosepink says.
Soappie hope your ok. Has DD sorted things with ex?
