Happy belated birthdays to Dorastar, jinky and mumof5.

Congratulations to ragz on the birth of your bundle of joy.

Had parents evening last night (didn't get home until 8pm so had a 12 hour day) and tonight (didn't get home til gone 6pm, so a 10 hour day) and still have an awful cough and swollen glands. On a positive note, our new bed arrived yesterday, and we had our first night sleeping on it last night - I didn't sleep well, but I think that was more to do with my being ill, than the mattress, although I think it'll take a bit of getting used to. Our wood burner will be in by Friday too (they finished preparing the chimney today, and put the limestone hearth in, so they've got the plastering, and the installation of the burner left to do).

Asked OH if he could do the bathroom today as he's off all week due to the fire being put in, and he hasn't done it, so hopefully he'll do it tomorrow.

I haven't done any flying at home, but did do a lot of decluttering in my classroom - I can't stand having bits of paper all over the tables and my desk! Also caught up on a lot of my marking, so hopefully won't have too much to do at the weekend. Made a start on the literacy plan this morning in PPA time, and also wrote the new IEPs for the 2 children in my class who have them. Luckily the SENCO helped me, as I've never had to write them on my own before.

Also called my sister as she's suffering with the Black dog, and had been to doctor today, who wasn't much help - sister is also having a tough time at work, and I don't think her boyfriend really understands depression, so they've been arguing too.

Well I'd best be off to bed so that I'm vaguely human in the morning.

Night all, and hugs to all of my flylady friends.

    sexymouse xx

My gut reaction to this is bin them! I am guessing you have not looked at them that much on the last 5 years, unless of course they have sentimental thoughts attached to them.

I have looked at them, but been too lazy/apathetic/depressed to do anything about them. :o They are a gorgeous arrangement from Bloom in a heavy glass vase. Anyway, new year, new me! I looked at them and thought 'bin', but then thought Fly Ladies! Thanks to gratefulforelp they are now like new, and thanks to this thread my house is getting better by the day. One day soon I'll not be embarrassed when unexpected guests call!:)

Well, I have apathetically listed another 6 items on ebay. 4 have already got small bids, which is keeping me going, I just find it so tedious ... that's really lazy isn't it!!

Tomorrow is meal planning day, so have just checked the 'stocks' to see what's there and what's needed before trying to metamorphosise into Delia once again for next week!

I have come to the conclusion that I need a free food processor (none of my resolutions will allow the purchase of one!!) have tried hinting at NSNDH but I actually don't think he knows what a food processor is, so just looks bewildered.

(BTW - I made up the abbreviation above ... it stands for Not So Nice DH ... yes, I bear a grudge!!!)

Shall I give DD2 back her phone and IPOD yet - she has been very nice and polite all evening???

DD2 is stressing - 6th form options form has to be in on Friday - she's decided on Geography and Photography..but can't decide between Double Applied Leisure or English Language or Sociology and Film Studies! May be in a bunker hiding by tomorrow night!!!!

It's not uncommon for students to change their choices once the results are in or just because over the summer hols so try to encourage her not to stress too much. DS1 has gone for Geography, History, English Lit and Maths.

DS3 in bed and spiking a temp - poor love it's his birthday tomorrow and he has been counting down for a couple of weeks so hope he is ok in the morning. With just 9 days until we fly I need to keep an eye aswell as he's the one with the dodgy ears.

Boys and DH watching the football so I've got them blowing up balloons!

Valli - so glad you are home safely. My FWD was skidding all over a flat road on ice on Saturday, it is much better in snow.

    DW and WM on
I need to find a box to wrap a football in and get the birthday banner out.

  • Ok the bit about the kitten heels and the ostrich feathers was a sexed up version - I'm training to be an MP :o
MP's have training [insert shrug smiley here]

Mumof2 are you thinking of learning to train people to sing, or to sign? I’m confused, at first I thought you meant signing, like in sign language, but then you mention a singing voice

Ragz, congratulations! So happy to hear that baby Abigail has arrived, I love the name Abigail!

Ishtar, yay for DH getting his first order!

I'm unbearably tired, have done nothing all day except wash up 8 things and have been glued to the laptop. On the plus side, I've listed things on ebay and have opened a shop on folksy, to make it easier for british people who don't want to deal with dollars on etsy. It's here if you are interested - hope this doesn't go against forum rules, I just wanted to show you what I make. I've also made an ipod holder today for a colleague of a friend - I'd made my friend one and her colleague now wants one, how good is that!
Looking back at that, I've actually done quite a lot! I feel like I've done nothing useful, but I guess I shouldn't dismiss all the work I've done.

tomato - Yes! Boogie With Stu for housework, perfect track!! My fave album is Physical Graffiti though.

Yes, if my house was on fire, I would rescue this LZ album first thing! Just cos I am greedy and it is a double. :D Otherwise, I stopped deciding which album is my favourite. Love them all.

No flying has been done all week. Work is mega busy (changing accounting systems, month end and other boring stuff :(). Hope to do some flying on Friday.

    Love to all :A
