A full day at work yesterday followed by today at UNI - thought I'd never get the Friday star! I've been saved by DH and DD though.:T

They tackled the kids bedrooms, washed, ironed and made tea for when I got home. They also listed a dressing table on ebay so I am seriously impressed.

So, please could my family and I claim the fifth star please?

    Hugs to all who need.

Froddy, my thoughts are with you. My son was a very special boy at a very special school, we found him dead in bed one morning when we went to get him ready for school. He was 11. School were extremely supportive as they were throughout his time there. We counted the people who worked with him as friends. They were fantastic as I'm sure you are with your pupils and families.

lil_me well done with the OU - thats a good result - hope you enjoyed your conference today ETA sounds like an amzing day:T:T
Diva I am not on FB either - I couldnt cope with another distraction:rotfl:
sarah hope your friend keeps well and DD gets a better sleep tonight (((hugs)))
cyclingyorkie - if he is old enough to go out and then be sick I think he is old enough to clean up after himself - IMHO - you are too good to him (((hugs))) ETA I can understand why you had to do it having read your next post but you had better find a good payback for all that work.
Mumof2 I have done your survey - I have a friend who did ironing for several years - dont know what she charged but you had to bring your stuff to her and collect as she had other committments - she bought herslef a proper ironing stool to make sure she was sitting properly and not getting sore
pooh great news that you can drive but terrible news about the treatment - I agree with Dh that you should do a complaint - it needs to be highlighted IMHO.They cannot get away with treating people so badly (((hugs)))
hex thats a bit drastic regading the books - are you sure its not the wine talking?
pigpen glad you have made it in one piece (no reflection on OH's driving intended) and give yourselves a huge squishy hug and put on a united attack/defence
Valli thank goodness you were alert and WTG alerting the staff - there are some nasty pieces of work araound:mad:
Dusty be honest and tell him what your friend saaid happened and that you value DS's life too much for him to be in the car in case there is an accident
nutty dont you dare go climbing again unless it is to escape a fire!
sandy71 you dont have to join but i thought it would be nice for you to be a recognised flyer! yes keep chipping away or dot2dotting - it does work and if there are people at home not working then get them roped in - there is no good reason why you are doing everything INMO
Kazm huge (((hugs))) tell that BD to get lost cos we want you back - we miss you xx
froddy you are welcome honey - thats lovely of Joseph's Mum to ask you - it will be a difficult day for everybody - huge (((hugs)))
keggie work and Uni - my goodness what a busy life you have - and huge (((hugs))) for you - the loss of your sone must have been so dreadful - I cant imagine how you must have felt then or now - such a brave lady and family xx

have been mega tired this evening so will be heading for bed soon - have had a nice day - was at a concert in the cathedral done by some of the music scholars from a private school - the choirmaster is the head of music at the school - it was beautiful - there were 4 older children playing the clarsach (small harp)that i could have listened to all day and there were a small choral group - their voices and choices of music was so professional - afterwards there was a lunch and then I went to see a lady I know going into another church to get married - she was looking beautiful and very teary!

I hope I havent missed anybody as I kept dozing off while reading the thread!!

love and hugs to you all especially LadyL xx

She's ok mostly.. but the mouth is running on overdrive which is amusing me immensely at the moment.. so far we have had suggestions of bigamy *giggle* illegitimate children and being cut out of the grandmothers will...

My MIL (devoutly religious and not pi$$head) suggested that DD1 not DH's, says she has never held her grandchildren, sends crimbo presents to all but me, criticises me for having WM and DW....bless... Have yet to be anything other than lovely to her, :A
but if she lasts much longer I may not:D
  • Thanks for filling me in Vali.

So sorry to hear that Froddy, such a sad thing to happen. I hope the funeral goes ok or as well as it can do. Losing a child I imagine is extremely hard x

Thanks for your thoughts Toots, I promise I won't go climbing unaided. I was desperate to get that window cleaned, it was doing my head in. Sounds like you had a lovely day though! Go get some well deserved rest!
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

Today I managed to declutter the bookshelf in the sitting room, declutter the dog and blitz the kitchen. Best I could manage but i'm hoping if I keep chipping away it will eventually be easier to keep on top of.;)

WTG Sandy - today all I managed to declutter was a bag of Minstrels...:rotfl: You're doing great:D

Sorry to hear about Joseph Froddy.

Pigpen - hope you make it through the weekend; we couldnt do without you on here

I have a question too - do we ever have tasks like 'blitz the car'? - only when Im at work, my appointments could be anywhere in the country and so I end up living in my car like a second home - and it's as messy too! For instance, Im off back to Brecon this week, to fulfil the appointment I had there when it was snowing, that I drove to and then drove home again without doing anything because it was cancelled after I got there - hmmmm! My car is still suffering!

Sorry, I didn't say that well did I:o It's nice to be here and everyone is so friendly so thank you.
DH is at work during the day then when he is home he spreads chaos in his wake!! And sometimes it's easier to do it when the kids are at school so I can get rid of their stuff:rotfl:

just to show how different things here are:
once our container had arrived we obviously had loads of packing material just about everywhere so decided to take it to the dump - got there with the car fully loaded and they actually wanted $15 from us  - a lesson learned ...

pigpen well at least it would have given you a great excuse for being late :D

went to a birthday party ystd evening - took kids left dh home - and it was great!!! - sat in the garden, a cold drink, nice people .... kids had a blast with the 100 of other kids and lasted till 10pm :T
