Good morning,
I've got a box of Jus roll puff pastry in the fridge that really needs using today and I could do with some inspiration as to what to do with it!
I looked on the jus roll website and none of the recipes inspired me! Do any of you lovely OS 'rs have any suggestions- I'm not fussed if it' savoury or sweet just don't want to chuck it away!
Many thanks in anticipation

How about cheese straws? just add grated cheese and a little cayenne pepper .
My Mum makes cheese and marmite straws. Very nice too.:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Mmmmmmm cheese straws sounds yummy- I'm guessing you just unroll the pastry and sprinkle the cheese on and slice into straws and cook?
Thank you for the yummy idea Chickenpolis.

Hi empy,
Yes you roll it out and put some cheese on half of it, fold the pastry over and roll out again and repeat depending how cheesey you like them. Then sprinkle a little cheese on top with some paprika or black pepper if you like this. Then cut in to straws or if you are feeling a bit creative you can "twist" them . Then bake in a hot oven.:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

I sometime make a puff-pastry pizza-type thingy. Smear some pesto on it and then slices of tomato and some mozzarella if I have any. Any old cheese will do, really. I sometimes make pasty-type things filled with pesto and feta cheese.0

Hello,
I have been defrosting my freezers and discovered an aging pack of puff pastry I must have bought in an aspirational moment. It is huge, 1Kg and now defrosted. I have also defrosted a pack of frozen mixed berries which had 'exploded' in the bottom og the freezer so I think these should be cooked rather than eaten raw as we usually do.
Thing is I'm not sure how to proceed now and , waiting for a cataract op I can't read the small print on the back of the pack
I don't normally cook much due to disability combined with lazinessso have no idea how thick the pasty should be rolled to or what size bits to use with how much fruit. I have more frozen fruit and also a few apples etc.
Any savoury ideas ? Preferably veggie/ cheese /fish ?
Thanks in advance.Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
Roll out the pastry fairly thin, pop the fruit with some sugar and spice in the middle and seal the pastry with a bit of water/egg so it looks a bit like a cornish pastry. A couple of holes in the top and paint with egg/milk to get it to shine. Cook on high till golden brown
You can make these as big or small as you like but expect juice to ooze out if you are using the frozen berries.
Or another quick recipe is to roll it out and score an edge. Fill the middle with puree, cheese and onion (whatever else you fancy) and cook on high. Almost like a pizza but not quiteCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
