So no LLU providers available on your exchange (including Orange).
There are still numerous non-LLU providers who are better than Orange in every resepect, however non-LLU and unlimited download greatly limits your options-are you sure you neeed unlimited?
PS: how about Plusnet Premium, which is £19.99 on your Market 1 exchange? With Quidco cashback that will come down by £28. 80GB download limit.

Possibly not, but it would mean that we would have to keep a strict watch on what we do, or do not, download. I maintain two websites and edit a magazine in my spare time so my uploads can be quite large. 1-2GB files are not unknown. My wife is also a heavy user, so between us we could easily blow a 40GB limit. The problem is that I need to change now and, without the luxury of a decent monitoring period, I am just guessing at our usage.

Plusnet was one of the top contenders - but I was put off by the limit and, ironically, by some of the the poor reviews.

I'm now totally confused. It would help if reviews included the exchange name that the reviewer is connected to .

Plusnet Premium is an 80GB limit. Plusnet mostly receives good reviews-you weren't put off 02 Access by it's terrible record?
If you are connecting to a non-LLU ISP then the exchange is not that relevant, as it's all going through BT Wholesale's network anyway, you can't change that whoever you sign up with.

Until I read Inactive's post above I had heard only good things about O2. Everbody seemed to be raving about their wonderful service.

Oh well, there are some positive reviews. I'll give them a go. After all, I was happy with my service from Tiscali and they were supposed to be terrible too.

I'll start monitoring our usage so that I can make a better informed decision next time I switch.

    Thanks for your input.

Yes, they are wonderful-but only on LLU services. If you look at the 02 forum you will see numerous complaints about the 02 Access service. Two completely different things. Many Access customers find their service so slow as to be virtually unusable in the evenings. I'm not aware of any positive comments on this service.

Nor me, I cannot recall ever seeing a positive review for 02 Access.

Hmmmm... I think I have made a mistake here. I'm going to let them connect it up and see how it performs. They do give a 30 day 'Happiness Guarantee' so I can bail out with no penalty. I can use the time to monitor my usage.
