Switching to Orange - where do I enter the MAC code?

I have been trying to switch online to Orange's Home Select broadband service. Their website says... "Switching to Orange is as easy as 1-2-3."

Step 1: Ring your current ISP and ask for a MAC code.

Step 2: Enter the MAC code when you join Orange online

Step 2 is where it all falls apart

I get right to the end of the joining process and am being asked to hit 'Confirm' but at no time am I given a chance to enter the MAC code.

Has anybody else done this? Do I enter the code after I hit 'Confirm'.

Perhaps the Orange Company Representative on here could help. I've emailed their customer services for clarification and they say they will do their best to get back to me within 5 days! I'm already having second thoughts.

Have you done any research on Orange BB, if you have not, I would suggest that you do before signing up with them.

    Couldn't agree more.

OP, take note (you'll thank us for it) ;)

    Thanks for the warnings.

Unfortunately, I want an unrestricted download limit and, because I live out of town, the choice is extremely limited. The alternatives are just as poorly rated as Orange, more than I can afford, or both.

I'm withTiscali/TalkTalk at the moment so maybe Orange will be a step up! I would certainly welcome an increase in my current download speed from 0.3 mb to the 0.6 mb that some Orange customers seem to be complaining about.

    Problem solved.

I signed up with O2 instead!

Well done, that is of course if you are on an 02 LLU exchange.

I'm not, but I basically had a choice of about three suppliers. O2 won because of their reputation for good customer service... and when I discovered I could get £50 cashback on my order!

Unfortunately, the fast, cheap broadband revolution seems confined to urban areas.
    :(

Oh dear, not good news, 02 is only good on LLU exchanges..

I also live in a rural location, however trust me, there are far more ( and far better ) ISP's available to you than Orange, 02 and BT.

02 Access is sadly amongst the worst options of all.

Such as who? The choice narrows drastically as soon as you specify an unrestricted download limit. I can still cancel O2.

From what I have seen, if you are on a non LLU exchange, all the options are terrible.
