after my dad died last year my ex bil asked if he could be one of the pall bearers - we didnt have a problem with that as he lived across the road from dad and they spent time together, also although my sis and bil divorced in the early 90s ex bil had been part of the family since the 1960s.

the day went very well, the only person to have a problem was ex bils girlfriend who just didnt get why he wanted to be there with us as we were no longer family. they split up soon after that

pleased everything went well for you and congrats on the baby

He did managed to tell his Nan the baby had been born whilst she was still conscious, and she seemed to acknowledge this so hopefully she was aware.
He is going to be a pallbearer - all the grandsons are going to be.
