Kayleigh , that's pants. The supervisor should be hauled over the coals for allowing that. What if there was a fire and they were trying to work out who was in the building from the sign out records? Silly woman telling you that was ok. Can you not appeal and say you were only following instructions?

I'll have a look at my contract and see what it says about appeals. Tbh, I didn't really have any rights in that job. And I've already told the main boss exactly what went on in the evenings. Sour grapes, yes, but I owe them nothing after this. I've warned a few friends to keep to the right times until it's over so hopefully only the ones responsible for losing me my job should get into trouble for it. And yes, it wasn't just the evening supervisor, someone told her I'd signed out early and only two other people work at that end of campus who could've seen me. I've had to get both into trouble but tbh, they both deserve it for not covering my back. They know I'd have done the same for them.

Tbh, I'm just angry and bitter right now. I know it's for the best, I need more time to work on uni stuff. It's happened for a reason, I'm sure. I'll just have to trust that Him/Her/It/Them Upstairs know what they're doing.

So sorry to hear that Kayleigh- absolutely awful. These companies take the p** they really do. I am surprised that they can find or retain staff and i would be tempted to write a letter just for personal satisfaction.
Don't take this on your shoulders, the guilt of it is not your fault. They should be ashamed of themselves- and i would point out that as this was common practice and had been ok before, then if they were going to change it they should have warned you and given you the opportunity to work the time owed or not do it in future. They shouldn't be doing that.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

SRM, Happy Birthday!
Kayleigh, I'm really sorry to hear that, I hope something get sorted, or at least that you get better marks at uni.
Lou, we were 'lucky' with my grandma, she was stealing from shops, and wandering out in front of cars so they had to deal with it. It's so much easier for them to brush it off if no-one else is affected. I hope you get things sorted.
Just been to my OU lecture and I'm going to spend the rest of the weekend catching up on the work.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Kayleigh, that is so awful about your job:( I am sorry.
Have sorted things with MIL, when we arrived at her house she still hadnt found her banking stuff apart from an old statement so I asked her were her bus pass was as a photo ID. She opened a purse and there, behind her bus pass was her bank card:T
Straightforward operation in the bank, just needed an up to date statement and she is now sorted.
We do need to start thinking about whats going to be best for her long term though. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

Its always been a wise move to sort out Powers of Attorney asap with Parents, even if they are healthy.
Same with drawing up a Joint Tenancy Agreement if you have both Parents. That way the LA can never take a property away to pay for care for one and leave the other in dire straits.:D stay wonky
