Fraud & getting help from HSBC

Hi All,
I'm new here, I hope someone will be able to give me some good advice.
Today my current account got completely wiped (nearly £3500) - suspected online fraud.
I have to say HSBC have been completely useless. I have rung their fraud dept about 15 times and never got though to anyone. You get put on hold for a while then get prompted to leave a voicemail and they'll call you back - well I first called and left a msg at 2pm (when I first noticed) and I haven't heard a thing back (they close at 10pm). I'm really worried about how I'll pay my mortgage and other bills. It appears to me that HSBC couldn't really care about my problem. I also tried calling the main telephone banking line and spoke to an advisor who tried calling the fraud team for me and he couldn't get though either (so what chace have I got!).
I'm not sure what else to do other than sit here and worry! Should I report the fraud to the police?

If you can first thing go to your local branch. They can try and call the fraud depart on your behalf etc. Sorry just realsied its the weekend bank might not be open on Sat.0

Once you manage to speak to the fraud department things will get rolling. To my knowledge HSBC is very quick and efficient in resolving fraud related cases.0

How do you subscrible to threads i'd like to for this one.
your in the same position as me, i mean most people loose around a few hundred like me thousands have went from my account, was told it cold take up to a month, still waiting.0 -
oh and no the bank tell you not to report it to the police its between the bank and the company0

If you can't get a hold of them by phone, it would be best to go personally to your local bank. Waiting for their call back will not help you, and may just worsen your situation.
Once you're done talking to the bank, I would also suggest to report this to your local law enforcement agency. If it is indeed internet fraud, you could also seek the advice of https://www.ic3.gov. This has just happened to my mum.
A bank transfer of £2000 was made yesterday and there wasn't even half that available!
So far HSBC have been useless, so with the above advice she's going to pop into her local branch tomorrow.0 -

Mum got through to the fraud department at 8am this morning and they were very helpful.
If a 'new page' pops up when accessing you banking, this is how they get you. My mum mentioned this to HSBC but apparently it was nothing to worry about!
Anyway, she was told a refund could be within the next 2-3 days but could take up to a week.0 -

I have a basic bank account with them, where i can't have no direct debits or anything on the bank account, yet yestrday three payments of £500 came out my account...And there saying it's not there fault...Someone has payed some counterfit traverlers cheques in, and i need to contact american express..
They said i need to contact who ever payed the cheques in, how do i do that? it could be anyone?
And there not going to pay me the money back..
Has anyone got the number for the fraud department please? can't find it anywhere?
Can't belive how unhelpful there being..I don't know what to do...I'm £1500 overdrawn and the money i did have in there has all gone..
