The other way to look at it is this:

    CONSUMER POWER
If you are not happy with the rates charged by ebay (one of the reasons I choose not to trade there) then if you (everybody) inflated thier P&P charges to cover expenses and sold thier goods for next to nothing what is ebay going to do?

Will ebay simply stop the trading and teach you all a lesson by doing so, no I think not!! They will realise the you (everybody) thier customer/s are not prepared to pay the excessive costs in order to sell goods. Ebays only options will be to "Review" their charges or "Cease" trading. They are a business, they will work it out but it will get the message across loud & clear CONSUMER POWER.

May'be we should have an "Ebay Month" where for one month a year everybody sells with excessive P&P to cover charges.

Remember Ebay are still making money off the high postage charge, if the buyer pays via Paypal, so maybe Ebay are not that bothered?

I think I'm right in saying that postage is also charged at 3.4% of the total.

So Ebay loose out of the FVF fess but gain through the high P&P charge.
  • £27 for an MP3 player is not value I would have thought
    I run because I like BEER..... ;)
  • I have to say this really annoys me too. Bit different, but, I was looking at a top and the postage was £6.50. I emailed the seller to ask why the postage was so expensive and he said:-

    £1.50 for wrapping
    £1.50 for car park
£1.50 for petrol getting to post office
and £1 for the actual postage

As you can imagine he did not sell his item.

As money savers we should only be concerned with the total price including p and p no matter how its weighted. If postage is high but the total price is the cheapest one available they will always get my bid!
