I keep a pile of junk in my garage. To be fair though it still gets me from A to B.

My insurance is actually cheaper parking on my drive than it is if I tell them it's in the garage. Quite a few of my mates on my car forum found the same thing. I have no idea why.

Personally I use my garage for junk and my car. Got my mini parked up at the back, and then tonnes of junk stacked everywhere the car isn't. God help me the day I try to dig the car out!
I had the same thing, cheaper coming clean and saying it was on the street than in the garage.
  • Can't remember which comedian said this, but it was something along the lines of "Only in Britain would people keep a lawnmower and some gardening tools inside a locked garage, and leave an eight thousand pound car outside in the street." :D

I tell my insurers that I park on the driveway. Even though we live in a newish house, the garage is too narrow for our cars even with the mirrors folded - You can get 2 of our 3 cars in but can't get out of the door!
Ours is the same - I can't imagine who designed them! I can get my car in (Micra, so not exactly big) but I can't get out of the car as the doors won't open wide enough. Absolutely daft. So we use ours for junk/DH's tools, and the cars are parked on the street. And yes we tell our insurers the truth :D

If you have junk, get a £100 shed.
Having seen the quality of such a priced shed, I would advise not to expect it to still be there after strong winds :rotfl:
  • My cars both go in the garage. No screen to de-ice, no misting up in the mornings, no starting problems, no cold seats or steering wheel. Can't undersand why so many people with garages don't use them. Junk the junk and put the car away.
