big order from Mr T coming Saturday £82 - should do us for the week. after that will be on store cupboard rations as we lose the use of the kitchen for a few weeks (building) - not quite sure how we will survive, but ...
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
  • I know that usually my local Mr T and Mr S supermarkets compete and reduce the price of medium sized good brand Easter eggs to one pound each, was just wondering if anyone has this and could we alert each other when this offer becomes available?
I buy for 18 kids 0-13 for birthdays Christmas and Easter so it can get very expensive through the year and the one pound offer saves me loads at Easter.

morning all, went shopping to Mr A last night. Only went in for milk and bread and spent £32.48. On the plus side this should last us til the end of the month as I only need bread, milk and yoghurts now. Pretty well stocked up now.
  • Morning all
Exhausting day yesterday-90 mile round trip to have my hip injected!
Friends hubby drove our car and Mum came with us- not to hold my hand, she wanted to go shopping:) Dropped her at Sainsbugs and met her for late lunch,so of course I did a trolley dash whilst I felt OK!

Also managed to get to M&S as I had 'found' 3 gift cards in my purse,£54.62:rotfl:knickers and bra so another card with £6.14 back .

JGraves £10.12 with WI discount of 10%.

Gammon hocks £5 from the butter market, then Sainsbugs-lots of basic bits, including an Indian meal for 2,totalling £53,can't get it all in the cupboards, but nicely stocked up now.
Bought a loaf so I don't have to make any, looks OK.
4 jars of 9p curry sauce,DH thinks they're good but adds so much when he's cooking I don't know if we save anything-anyway occy therapy for him:D
Slept like a log last night and woke up pain free, will still have to go slow today(which seems a waste as it feels good)but don't want to aggravate things-waiting for the steroid flare, hope it doesn't arrive.
    Have a good day all

  • good morning everyone,

haven't posted for a while, very busy at work. Beautiful morning here and it put me in the notion to clean. Started by emptying cupboard under the stairs of step ladders, weekend bags etc, etc, only to discover pushed away to the back, a large bag of vegetables which are now nearly unrecognisable. Think they were originally celery, potatoes, carrots and spring onions. "Someone" must have put them there, due to lack of space in vegetable drawer in kitchen, and forgot about them.
I am so disappointed. Thought I was better organised than that.

Decided to cheer myself up by making a huge batch of banana and walnut muffins using nearly at use by date nuts and blotchy bananas. Feel a little better now and will feel even better when I sit down to do some quality control with a cup of tea.:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a frugal day.
It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!

Went to Asda and Netto yesterday to stock up on some things.

Altogether spent £70.97 so my monthly total is now £163.58. At this rate I should be well under my budget for the month and may be able to reduce it again.

Thought there were some real bargains in Netto, two packs of 18 toilet rolls for £5.00, 250g packs of unsmoked back bacon £1.00, Airwick plug in air freshners with refill £2.00, Vitality strawberry pre and pro-biotic drinks 6 pack for 79p, large white loaf 44p, two packs of lean minced steak £3.80, Gaymers Pear cider 12 cans for £6.00.

I'm making a meal for friends tonight so I need a couple of small things that I plan on getting DH to pick up but not adding them to the total as its entertaining and I wouldn't have been buying them otherwise. Got most of the stuff for the meal out of the freezer, fillet steak, smoked salmon, prawns, home made soup, home made bread.

    Looking forward to it. :)

    I'm making/serving;

Home made Tomato and Herb Soup with Cheesy, Garlic Croute

Smoked Salmon, Filo King Prawns, Cocktail Prawns with Dressed Mixed Leaves and Home made Linseed Bread

Fillet Steak in a Cracked Pepper, Cream and Brandy Sauce served with Potatoes Roasted in Goose Fat, Mashed Potatoes, Carrot Batons, Fine Beans and Cauliflower and Leek in Cheese Sauce

Creme Brulee with Raspberry and Mango Coulis

Selection of Cheeses, Biscuits, Celery and Grapes
    GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

Have a look on the Special Occasions board for instructions on making bunnies & things from flannels, that hold a creme egg where the soap should be :D There's also things like rabbit poop & Easter Chick soup, using chocolate covered raisins or banana milkshake powder...
