They've not banned smoking in cars - but you will get done if you're not in proper control of the vehicle.

It could be argued that taking a mind altering substance whilst driving SHOULD be illegal - but it won't be.

It is however illegal in a car which is deemed a place of work (hire cars, pool cars, some company cars and vans)

I smoke in my car all the time. Used to even roll while driving, back in the days when i was short of cash and rolled my own. I never throw the ends out the window at other road users tho, that's just naughty. Always either use the ashtray (which i hate using as it stinks), make sure there is nothing behind me when i flick it at the ground so it doesn't hit any1 else in the kisser so to speak.

I don't smoke in the house, so my car is my only place i smoke indoors, with all the windows and sunroof open

I really don't care if people want to smoke in their cars, as long as they do really stay in control. There are plenty of people who don't smoke who aren't paying attention and not in proper control.
