Hi, I have started this year by strictly only buying what is on my shopping list and planning my week's car trips (as well as menus). I have already dramatically reduced my petrol and food costs, and have just got back from the garden centre (on way back from doing the shopping and dropping my son off at a friend's) where I bought onion sets and seed potatoes to kick start my veg garden.0

How do you make wallets from tetrapaks???ArtOfTheCountry wrote: »I will be making more things by re-using packaging - reusing is better than recycling. My favourite at the moment is making wallets from TetraPaks. And trying to get my friends to use one. 1 convert so far!0

Started composting last year so hope to be able to use this compost and have better luck with carrots, beetroot and potatoes than last year. Have potatoes chitting (not rude honestly!) already. Council here in Derbyshire is really good at providing re-cycling facilities so already doing that, having RE-USED everything to death first natch.
The additional thing I'm going to do in 2010 is not send any paper cards again. Instead everyone will get ecards. Which (smug look) are money saving too.:j:j:j:A0

I'm going to try and eat less beef. Cows themselves emit industrial quantities of methane, the enormous quantities of grain they're fed is invariably grown using artificial fertilisers that are petroleum-based, and a major driver of deforestation is clearing pastures for cattle grazing.0

"I'm going to grow my own veg" - and walk more, recycle more and use my compost bin!0
