  • I plan to help my Dad, (I am 27 but live at home) with growing our vegetables, buy a screw type energy saving lightbulb and turn off lights when not in use.

  • I am going to develop and track my own personal carbon footprint and offset this...my aim is to be carbon neutral by the end of the year...... the only challenge is the methane!
  • I am buying eco cleaning products in bulk from a local business
Meat box from farm 2 miles away
Growing my own as much as an amatuer can
    Reuse as opposed to recycle
    Turn lights off
    Turn heat down
Cook fresh every evening and use left overs
Have a clear out of the pantry week to save on shopping
Use wash balls and soda crystals to cut down on soap powder

Would love solar panels and wind turbines etc but silly money and can't afford it.

We are growing own veg, learning more about recycling, insukating my home better and Im teaching my mindees everything I can about "being eco" so they can go home and pester their families to reduce their own carbon footprint. :D

Sounds like a great book - Im studying economics with environment studies, so sounds like it would fit it neatly with these subjects!
  • I hope to eat get the children to eat more of the veg off our allotment, and to buy less food in plastic, as we cant recycle it.
  • if I win it then I will be able to put some of it into practice on top of all I have been doing for many many years - recycling, saving petrol, walking to the shops, eating ALL food, growing things, blah blah.
