Came across this on another car forum.
Pictures demonstrating exactly why oil and oil filter changes are essential at least as often as the manufacturer recommends them.
Not servicing you car properly is not money saving.

    I've seen something not totally dis-similar... but it WAS on an old Landy angine that hadn't moved for about 20 years LOL - a whole weekend and buckets of degreaser and a pressure washer... *sigh* we got her running tho! ;)

  • I must admit im really lazy about checking the oil and water on my car. Those pictures have certainly made me think that I need to start taking better care of my car.

    Shocking cruelty to a car! That guy would've had beeps and lights going off in his dashboard telling him he needed to change the oil. Hopefully that's one more person educated, and a few more now!

    i picked up a new car a few years back and the dealer had just taken in a nissan 300zx biturbo, the car was 3 years old, had done 60k and had never been serviced, the engine had finally given up and seized ...
