Becky have to say Ive been having the sachet ones that you then fill up with milk to the right quantity...stops it from boiling over. Its my one expense in the food shopping but I figure if it stops me eating more during the day its worth the extra money!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

I love porridge but whenever I make it it explodes all over the microwave. I did wonder if I could make it in the slow cooker the night before and get up to a hot brekkie in the morning but I'm not sure.
I'm having my equipment delivered in a few mins, then my financial assessment from social services to see if I need to pay anything towards my carer. And I've found my handbag! It was under the settee, so when the ss lady's gone I can go get my tablets.
Hope everyone has a good day!
I think you might be leaving it on for too long then. Keep an eye on it through the door and if you see it creep up the side of the bowl, turn the microwave off and wait for it to go back down. If it's not hot enough, stir it and put it in again.

Morning all..haven't been here much last few days...whats been happening??
Porridge=gak!Debt-free...and staying that way...0 -
Kayleigh, I put it on for less than the instructions say (it's the sachet ones), and use less milk and it still explodes! So I've just gone back to having muesli instead. I did wonder if it could be because I'm using skimmed milk when it says semi, so it's thinner.
Hmm... wonder if I've got time to go try again with porridge before ss lady comes...Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Yes I know that Grim feeling Bookie...had it this morning when I woke up and realised it was another day and back to the clicks, scratches etc just to make a few pennies.
Things at work are grim too...Boss had the conversation the other day that she has thought about everything from shutting the shop to moving the shop to get more business :eek: Its dire at the momentI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Sounds familiar Sally. I feel for her - and you of course.0

What annoys me Bookie is that she has practically ignored all the advice we have given about getting people through the door and advertising...feel like Ive been banging my head against a brick wall. When she said the other day, right we really need to get people in what are we going to do.....well lets just say I really had to bite my tongue. Don't get me wrong she is a fab boss in every other way and a good friend, but she really doesn't live in the real world at times!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
