Yes you can use butter in cakes and crumble Claire.

Busy morning, been relocating stuff to the loft and vac-bagging lots of bits and bobs that need storing away. DH has made the phone calls he needed to make, Job centre have agreed to him doing his "back to work" interview over the phone which is great, saves him spending 2 days in bed afterwards from all the climbing in and out of taxis and his chair.

MIL, the diamond that she is sent us a lovely parcel this morning which has really made a difference. :T

Off to make turkey burgers for tea.

Bookie - Hobbies! Get in the garden or sort your dolls house out. Do you do anything craftwise? Got any unfinished projects on the go? Visit the library and see if they've got any audio books you could hire and listen to whilst in the garden?

Petrol, they're allowing me £3.25 a week until they get receipts to prove I spend £20. Other stuff not allowed as it's general living costs. Internet not allowed because I'm not totally housebound. I wonder if I can claim for the phone, since my mental health care plan includes emergency phone numbers for me to ring.

Afternoon everyone, hope you dont mind me joining in.
I've been a long time lurker, but as it was payday yesterday I've decided its time I took control of my money.
You all do so well, some of you have such massive debts that you're tackling and I dont know how you do it, so I'm hoping you'll keep me motivated to do the same.

Ames - you mention that you struggle with shampoo bottles etc, would pump action bottles (like the kind you get hand soap in) that you could get someone to refil from a bigger bottle make things any easier?? just a thought.

Welcome to the DC Lizzie! Thanks, that's a good idea, but I've just realised that if I get the carer they'll be dealing with the bottles. Good idea though, I think I'll use it for shower gel for washing daily.

    Hello Lizzie!Nice to meet you...
Doncha just love MSE? I wanted to buy a cardi from Fashion Union, £20, but didn't fancy the postage at £3.95, so I searched on here and found a code for £25% off, and free delivery..now comes in at £15 delivered, rather than £23.95.....fab!

Ames if you keep the bottles stored upside down then you don't have to do the squeezing....I have to do that because of my carpal tunnel.

Lush do some fab shampoo bars too - like soap but you just swoosh it round your hair 2 or 3 times and lather up....they last a long time too.

Hello Lizzie - welcome to the daily :j
