Better off starting a new therad rather than hijacking this one.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Not sure but it appears to me that some retailers may pass on (or required to pass on) details to TV licensing...
All retailers are required by law to pass your details to TV Licensing. If they do not, they can be fined just like license evaders.

That is basically the case. Ever driven at 71mph on a motorway? If you have then you are just as much as criminal as someone who watches TV without a licence, yet how many people have driven at 71mph or over and not been convicted of this criminal offence?
So why does anyone ever bother to get a Licence if its that easy, and how does anyone ever get convicted?.. What has Speeding got to do with this, nothing.
  • Troll.

If you only want to watch match of the day once a week go down the pub and watch it.

What I was trying to get across was that a lot of people would not think twice about speeding, knowing that they can easily get away with it, even though it is probably a more serious offence than TV licence evasion.

ie How many people got killed by someone not paying their licence?

So 99% of motorists speed, so that justifies you not buying a licence? as i keep saying if its that easy ,why do people go to court and get fined, why dont they just "Not let anyone in" ?

There are degrees of being over the speed limit, and the tolerance of speedometers vary which is why driving at 71 miles an hour in a 70 Zone is unlikely to get you a ticket.

However you either need a licence or not.
If you do - you get one, if you don't no problem.
We all evolve - get on with it

They don't 'just not let anyone in' because of the way that the TV Licence inspectors work. They've been known to bully their way into homes, particularly the homes of vulnerable people such as pensioners and single Mums, and a great deal of people aren't aware of their rights.

And as for the person that mentioned the TV Licence people contacting the administrators of this site and getting my IP address, an IP address is useless. Can't post the link as a new user but do a quick search for IP Mystery on youtube, it's quite amusing lol.

Anyway, have got the answer I needed regarding the retailer and the TV Licence people so thanks to all those that've helped, much appreciated. :)
