Hey - I'm feeling like a failiure at this challenge, I had a dreadful January, I made about £27 and so far nothing in Feb (even failed at selling manky shoes!!).
I do have some stuff to put on ebay but see at most that is worth about £50 but is prob about 50 items so just not feeling motivated to do it as not sure all the effort is worth the return.
I need to see progress, I know I have started a blog and started my childrens book research and plot but that is so long term and I need to start making money now....this year is going so quickly, my Oh has a week off at June half term and 2 weeks in August and I soooo want to be able to afford for us to go away for a break to the 'seaside' in one of those (and we won't do that unless our credit card is up to date and it won't put us in debt!).........just not seeing at the moment. The only way I can see to make 'quick money' is by selling well worn shoes and I suck at that!
I just see that with half term and teachers training day on Friday I just see that Feb has gone and I will be two months into the challenge and not even eached 3 figures.....I feel like giving up, which is actually normal for me, I reach a point at which only I can do something about and I decide I'll do something else or just forget about it. I just don't feel I have enough time to do anything properly.....my day consists of a school run at 9am to drop off DS I then try and use the morning to get my house jobs done, another school run at 12.45 to drop dd at pre-school, I then have about 2 hours to do my things before another school run to collect both at 3.00pm, by the time we get home and go through book bags, empty lunchbox, have a snack (them!) etc it is time to sort tea, then bath and bed for them, then I have to do tea for me and hubby (somedays it works having tea together but most time doesn'y as hubby is too late in and I like to eat with him) so by time cleared up and settled it is 9pm and I am to tired to do anything other than catch up on this thread...and then a 7am we start again......... those 2 hours in the day should be productive but yesterday it took 45minutes to try and sort get my dads car insurance company to understand that he can't fill a form in or talk to them about his accident as he has had a stroke and can't communicate, then had to talk to his bank about trying to access his money (prob. need to get power of attorny), then have to think about visiting him, checking his flat and also trying to deal with ahubby who is VERY stressed about work, he would leave at the drop of a hat if we could afford it and had other income in place as it is that bad, but he has to stay to support us all.
Sorry huge dribble, just had a down couple of days.
But on the plus side my OH is actually supportive, well hes not not supportive anyway and he has thought of a few things he has tucked away that we could sell and his are worth alot more than mine, but they are in the loft and he needs to sort them, he has been working everyweekend since chirstmas so not had chance to do t...but does have this weekend off which will be good!!

THanks, I did look into opening a new 2nd bank account to do this challenge but maybe thats going overboard, has anyone else gone that far?
well worth it! I have opened a business account for my new website (still to be done!) and I am also using a personal account for other monies!Gosh, I know, even if I mainly read it when you are all asleep and miss most of the chat  lol ... think how attached everyone will be in December, will have to spend all our money on massive party :rotfl:
party at yours zoegirl? I'll book the tickets now!.... I always fancied NZ... tried to pursued the OH to move there but he says no..... got o be better than the UK!
I managed to get a lot on ebay last night and I am planning to do more today.... I need to start thinking of restocking some bits to keep the pennies coming in so I can concentrate on getting PM up and running.
OH announced last night that the company he works for is in the poo a little and they are looking at redundancies and possibly 10% paycuts across the board. He won't be made redundant but his job might be relocated to Birmingham which would mean him working away all week which will not be good for the kids. I really need to up my game to cover the £3000 a year we will loose if the paycuts go ahead and in to get the business at a stage where I can employ him!
Next week will be a slow one for me as its half term and with both of the sprogs at home I won't get much done so I am working like mad this week....
Any idea on how to get a business running and majorly profitable as quickly as possible???
off to deal with the dreaded turbo lister again this morning!
Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Brilliant, got the news this morning that my work are allowing me to back at 18 hours a week. Look like asking the boss how much notice I had to give might have made them realie I would just leave. They've got the start date wrong right enough but I have mentioned this to them. Between me, OH, my mum and dad I'm sure I could manage childcare for a fornight. :j:j0

For those who do MSing - Ive used grass routes and probably get about 3 a month from them, can anyone reccomend any others? where to all teh bank jobs comes from? i only get the holiday company (T) and the supermarket MR A
Hi I use Grassroots too, tried signing up for a few others but there isn't much about here and they don't pay anywhere near as much, gapbuster is the one that does McDs, but used to work for them so can't do it! I get Mr A too, had one yesterday £25 +del for using online service, also get holiday (FC), Bank (B and H) and phone (V) so not that bad, could also try retail eyes, they do pub grub, pharmacy and petrol mainly. There is a thread listing them all on here.
Edit: Found I got more jobs by listing second and third addresses as postcodes in towns that I regulary visit.turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -

Well if you want to wait until I have FINALLY bought a house, then by all means I will have open doors lol, until then I live in a cupboard ... its tiny ... so its added motivation to get the stuff sold really as I have no storage space, I would be a disaster in waiting if I had one of these lofts people are talking about
Well, the house is tiny, I should add the yard is lovely, and I like next to a massive sports field ... so its awesome in that regard, besides, I have tents :rotfl:"Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!!"Nov NSD: ?/30 Nov Make 10 Day ?/300Get Rid Of Debt: ?/2000 !! :mad:0 -
Just to bring my effort, such as it is, up to date...not been here for a couple of weeks as both DD and DS had birthdays (on the same day but 9 years apart, how's that for carp family planning), I bought a dining suite with my shed fund money
one of the furpets cost a fortune at the vet...not doing too well atm
Still, it's early days and I made a good start (have to tell myself this to encourage myself) and am almost 1/5th of the way there already :T
Everyone seems to be rolling along nicely, good luck and hope you all reach your goal (of course you will)
Will report back after the next disaster

Just packing up my mums bday pressie to send to her, and a thought crossed my mind!
Did a little naughty at the end of last year and bagged myself £120 and £50 worth of M&S vouchers, so thought I would share.
Had Sky HD, and they were offering £50 worth of vouchers for new sign ups, so as contract was over 12 months old and in OH's name, got him to phone up and cancel saying he was moving out. I then phoned up sky saying I was moving in and got the sign up deal. Had to live without Peppa Pig for a week, but DD managed to live with CBeebies (Sky box works as freeview when disconnected!), Sky man came round, gave me a new box (didn't go for HD this time in a bit to save £10 a month) and a month later got 2x£25 vouchers, which are MIL and Mums mothers day pressies. Also HD boxes go for a bit on EBay, hence the £120, sold it on to a computer geek that wanted the hard drive. Sods law though, they are now on Quidco, anyway, like I said, a litte naughty but it worked!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
