I feel as though I've joined the conversation way too late (damn work!!), but just wanted to add my two-penneth. I know things can sometimes be difficult when you have kids and money/man issues etc, but I envy you all soooo much. When I was young, all I wanted to do was get married and have 3 kids (oh and to be an astronaut!!) and I would never in a million years have thought that when I got to my age I'd be on my own and no kids in sight. I just never met the right guy to take the plunge with and the years skipped by.

I'm not unhappy at all, in fact I'm quite content with my lot in life, but I often just wonder what things would have been like if I'd got the things I always wanted. It's only when my friends have their babies that I get a bit upset and have to have a serious word with myself.

I hope I won't offend anyone, I'm sure you do appreciate what you have really. But the good side of things can sometimes get lost in all the bad stuff and I just wanted to point out there is always a positive side to look at. You have the most wonderful gift there is in your kids and no amount of debt or man problems can take that away.

Ooh, can't believe I just wrote that on an open forum. I need a cup of tea.

jane- you've saved yourself £150(or made £150?) - look at it that way. It doesnt have to be 10k in cash in a bank so you still have made towards your total. the most important thing is you have one less outlay in the month, one less bill to worry about so keep going and next month it will be just as good as htis one

    Handy (maybe) tip.
My friends brother is setting up in business as he has invented a range of stuff that solves some common and long standing niggles with the usual equipment for a hobby of his.
he has found a local fabricator manufacturer who will tool stuff for him within a couple of days of him saying what he wants.
Anyway he is also trying to source other stuff that he needs and hates going through all the stuff like alibab etc.
he now puts his search into google images trawls through till he finds something that matches his requirements and the gets the company name as it is displayed with the image.
he says it can be time consuming but he has found quite a few things this way.
    may help someone

Sorry - this is to evenstarcrafts - there's about a page gone on since I started typing!

Yes, I'd say that the baby market is your best bet. Weddings I'd say people tend to prefer the traditional album or maybe a 12x12 type scrapbook, but are unlikely to wheel out a paper bag book of the big day. Maybe even special events like christening, with pages for the baby with the clergy, baby with mum and dad, baby with godparents, cutting the christening cake, etc.

One thing I've thought about is a 12x12 box frame and do single layouts to order, rather than a whole album. I'd have a pink and a blue version available to show, and do them to order - set up at craft fairs/baby fairs etc. That way you could have 2 or 3 designs and do them in different papers etc. and it would be quite quick to do, rather than designing each page separately like I ended up doing with the album.

I also have a 10year old girl who is a great kid love her to bits
Me and her dad have had a rocky relationship to say the least and my stress levels are through the roof.thats another story
I think what im saying is I do count my blessings for my kids ,I love them, but I could have done without the man trouble,to be honest, and its still going on, makes it hard to focus on the goood things in life
