  • Thanks Amber...I know we can do it, we've got until September if we need it and the company give him £2,500 for resettlement at the start, so we are okay. I'm not sure about my ESA, can't seem to get a straight answer about whether it'll transfer, so I'm aiming to make quite a bit of money from this challenge and staying motivated...if we can make enough, we'll go in July and it'll be my brand new start :) I just expected some more support then what we've had, and OH is distracted by his last uni assignments and work projects at the moment.

Truly tempting is quite good! I'd visit that. Sounds intriguing (SP) and yummy!

Saucy, this might help - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/FinancialSupport/Introductiontofinancialsupport/DG_073387

Now, if I can come out here with nothing but a suitcase and my lappy, and still be here 3 years later, you can do it as well! Remember that I can help you with advice and translations, so you'll be fine!

Thank you so much!! I looked for that but couldn't find it...Now I've just gotta find out how long my contributions last!

    You are brilliant.

Edit: Anyone noticed how the non dribble thread is full of dribble, or is that me being over competitive? Hee hee hee.

Have had some interest in children's books I always planned I'd write and never got round too...it's an old dream but I'm not sure I have time for it.

I'm still hunting out magazines who will pay for stories, and I might have a wholesale idea for Ebay, which I'll be looking into. Then I've got my blogging/crafting, and the writing work I already do...I'm hoping that will be enough! I also do Dooyoo, of course, and am aiming for £50 a month which will go straight to savings, and I'll do more if I can, and I'll do mystery shopping if there is ever anything good near me!

    Hi all,

Saucy is it you who asked me about Helium? I'm really sorry I didn't answer - the hangover hit me around 1-ish and after that I was struggling to keep up with the kids, oh and rowing with OH, where's that roll-eyes emoticon when you need it :)

I found Helium through someone on SliceThePie who said they did it as well as that site to earn a few extra pennies. It seems to be predominantly American and I was doing a creative writing course with SureStart at the time so I had a go then left it for a while as went back to work. So far from the few articles I've doe I've sold two for about eight dollars (one about choosing a name for your pet and one about unusual gifts I think) - you have to get chosen but if you can churn out cheery-sounding magazine-type articles then it's a fun way of making a few pennies and it's also a way of honing your writing skills and getting rated if you'd like to know what people think about your writing. You also have to rate other people's stuff otherwise you won't have a star which you need to earn a penny or whatever it is each time someone reads your article. With mine, things that give advice on gifts and stuff to do with having kids seemed to get the most views. Sometimes the rating is quite dire as there are a lot of people who write godawful love poems or stories with millions of spelling mistakes - but if you can write to any of the Marketplace titles, which are requests from online mags and websites for specific things, you can earn more (although you're still competing with other writers to get your article published). There is a lot of support in the forums. It's not a big earner but it's good fun and a good way to test out your articles or stories; but if you want to sell them you'd be better off looking at the Writer's Handbook or something like that; there is somewhere a big list of writing competitions which you sometimes have to pay entry to but if you're serious about 'making it' as a writer they're meant to be good.
If all of this isn't for SaucySecrets but someone else then I apologise to both of you! :rotfl:tried to go back through all the posts but got distracted by smelly socks, kept having to look up auction numbers cos I'm nosey :D

Good luck today and hugs to those who need 'em, will come back for a natter later if OH doesn't take the decent laptop to work. Oh and Hales, really sorry, haven't got any commitments done so can I please carry the same ones on to this week? Also Cally can you please pM me about websites and what you charge for setting them up, etc? Have got an idea :D byeeeeee xx
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

It depends on where you want the banner, some themes have areas where they can be put (ie sidebar or header) or you can put them in your posts by copying the html code from the affiliate site into the html of the post.

PM me if you want me to take a look or help!
