LilacPixie, do you have any thoughts on that? I sew and those would be quite easy to do. Do you think people would want specific characters or could I just make generic stuff and sell on Folksy, ebay etc?

oh No:eek:! i feel another "give it a try" coming on! (as if i dont have enough on the go at the moment!!!!)i used to do frilly dolls pram quilts and pillows as spending all that money on a dollys pram and then finding a really nice quilt is difficult. i also made babys, pram quilts, cot quilts and bumpers, but never sold them. God i can hear the o/h now i think he will be hiding this laptop from me!

Kemo. I think it varies across different companies. My nephew did lots of rounds at one point and it was just a drudge and really put me off - especially the hours of folding.
However 1 small round that he used to do came up and I would earn more than him cos of age. Not sure exactly what it will work out at but his basic was reasonable for that round so I'm ok with it. You get paid more for how many leaflets you deliver.
Can let you know more when I've actually started doing it.

I have done free papers a long time ago, pay was bad but I used to do three, one weekly, one fortnightly and one monthly and so once a month with all three it was really good! Maybe look at doing Kleeneze, Betterware, avon etc and deliver the papers at the same time? I know you'd have to go back to get your catalogues but it would kind of kill two birds with one stone!

When delivering catalogues (I do body shop catalogue drops when I can) I put in a note the first time saying who I am and ask them to tick a box either 1. Thanks but not interested, don't leave a catalogue again, or 2. Don't want anything this time but please leave another next time or hopefully they even order! It takes time to build a round up but at least if people let you know they don't want a catalogue again you're not tramping up and down driveways for nothing, you just miss them out (obviously you have to make a list of responses/addresses the first time). You save time and catalogues (as I do lose a few through people not returning them). Invest in some plastic bags (I bought some on ebay, surprise, surprise) so your catalogues don't get ruined in the rain, it looks professional too.

LizD - all there really is about is either plain blue/pink or characters like peppa pig, winnie the pooh. There seems to be a huge gap in the market for just pretty fabric that is not specific to a program. My girls love butterflys and fairys and I really really struggled with finding some and had to settle for pink gingham. ALot of my mum friends have said the same if its not from a TV prog then its impossible to find.
