My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »((HUGS)) ladybird. We have had a bad couple of nights too....just mega screaming when I go to leave his room. Hubby is supportive in a kind of 'leave him to cry for a while' kind of way but it breaks my heart and I cave in. All Benjamin seems to want to do is hold my hand. Last night when he eventually went to sleep he had put my hand under his head so I couldn't leave him and he knew I was there, bless him.
I know I have to be consistent and strong but I just hate the thought of Benjamin getting upset because he thinks I have left him (it is tough enough to leave him every day without having to 'leave' him at night too).
And hubby saying 'they all do it' is SO unhelpful - I don't give a flying monkey what any other kid does - I just care what MY BABY does
We are going through exactly the same thing - since Christmas my previously great sleeper has been waking up once a night and properly screaming. And what's annoying is it isn't really an upset scream anymore (it was when this started) more of an annoyed scream that she isn't in bed with us - which is what we've been doing. I'm too tired with work to deal with it properly so she always ends in with us, flailing arms all night, taking ages to settle.
Need to tackle it and sadly I think the only option is to leave her to scream, while sitting next to her to beat the cycle. Hubby and I are both knackered and cross with it, mainly that we can't deal with it properly and just cop out.
Anyhoo, that was a mega rant, sorry about that, am just so frustrated that she's upset, then we get upset - vicious cycle.
However, for me it is great to know that other babies the same age are going through it!0 -
a bit quiet this morning! No insomniac weezl to amuse us?
just feeding Finn so posting from phone. Have to go have lunch with the entirety of DH's family late, which i'm soooooooo looking forward to.
I feel selfish but i find it mega annoying that they now want to see us all the freaking time. Used to get to them maybe every two months and now it's at least every two weeks! I don't HATE them, they just grate on my nerves. Today i find especially annoying as i'm still trying hard to get finn's naps sorted out - an uphill battle - and this lunch is going to screw today up for that. Sorry, end rant!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Aless it's totally ok for you to set the time of your meetings if you need to - say you want to meet earlier because you'll need to leave at xx time to get Finn down for his nap.
My screamy monster is grinning and laughing like a loon at me right now and chewing her latest toy, which is a spatula she purloined from the kitchen.
Hmm. The new travel crib mattress came with a cot bumper and sheets with shepherds on. I think this is an ebay sale in the making - I've just noticed that they're incredibly ugly... but I think I'm going to hold off on ebay till we're right about to leave for the UK so I can take 32kg of packaged ebay stuff with me, charge far less postage than I'd have to otherwise, and fill the case with shopping on the way back.
Too much thinking? Sorry.
Anyway, I need to leave now. Have a good dayOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I find using grandparents as babysitters alleviates this problem. They get to spend time with baby, I get to spend time with hubby
My parents don't live close so they have come over and had Benjamin at our house overnight whilst we have stayed out a couple of times, and then MIL has Benjamin once a week and likes to babysit on a Saturday night occasionally too.
And I get to be a NORMAL PERSON :j:j and talk about the baby all night
:rotfl::rotfl:
I didn't have any grandparents as a child (they all died before I was born) but I appreciate the bond that kids have with their grandparents and I want to foster that as early as I can.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I don't tidy hubby's side of the bed... He's on the furthest side of the room for a reason... I never have to go near his side of the bed!!
Ooh Mfd, bacon and cheese oatcake for lunch?
I have a new bedroom window... It looks nothing like the downstairs window it's supposed to be mirroring... Bu99er... Oh well... At least the colours are similar and it's not white or anything...
Bathroom fitters are doing my toilet, light fitting and a new shower... Which surprised me this morning... I wasn't expecting the shower lol... I've asked them to put the old one to one side rather than bin it as it still works... I might freecycle/eBay it...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Have you won the lottery? Windows and bathroom all at the same time??
Can't taste anything because I have a cold. Think I might opt for a bowl of Special K - I am aiming to buy a red swimsuit for my jollies and want to look like the girl in the ad
I have to sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door - I'm wierd like that!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Well if you can't taste you won't notice they taste of nothing lol...
Not won the lottery no, but about 2 years ago I found some information on MSE about applying to your local council for home improvement grants... Our local council don't do grants... But they can arrange a loan... It's secured on the house but I don't have to pay it back until I sell the house... The council contract the work out so the choice is limited, but the work is guaranteed and there's less chance of getting cowboys... Also, my windows were wooden and rotting and desperately needed doing before they just fell out on their own and there was no other way I could afford to do it... I'm not sure I'd have bothered in the first place if I'd have known it would take 2 years between application and works commencing though!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Hope today goes well Beanie. Stay strong xx
Charlotte woke again in the night. Still don't know what is wrong. She is in her bed and crying or shouting, and I just go in and get in beside her and cuddle her till she drops off. She's not awake enough to tell me what the problem is, and isn't aware of it in the morning....
