What can i give bubs for breakfast? he is 6 months old and normally has the pakcet baby food mixed with his milk i do let him have the odd toast soldier as he goes crazy when i have toast. I know im naughty because of the gluten but he has had no adverse effects from it. Can he have eggs yet what do you give your babies ??

Eggs are from 6 months and have to be well cooked.

Jack has just been having cereal but I will be starting him on toast later on this week. He had some of my bread roll yeasterday but just chomped it to death, I might have given him a chip to play with as well :o

Be interesting to see what people say!

Bear in mind mine were prem so weaning etc was advised on due dates rather than actual dates..

At 6 months corrected (8 months after birth!) DD2 was having *takes a deep breath*

3 weetabix with milk to sloppiness
    a slice of toast
    2 yoghurts
    a banana

    and then booby...

She is the only one who has nothing at all wrong with her!!!

Most of them weren't having food at all until they were 10-11 months.. then they went in the highchair and got exactly what we had flung at them.. :p

Lolly - I think from 6 months they can have just about anything. V has cereal, crumpets, pancakes, toast, sometimes with marmite (ewwwww!), eggy bread, dunky egg.

lolly - I haven't got a clue about anything about gluten :o my weaning went along the lines of if he can eat it himself (ie pick it up and get it into his little gob and it isn't packed full of salt and/or sugar) then he can have it :D

Benjamin was definitely eating toast by 6 months (we started weaning at about 23 weeks). Also, weetabix, all kinds of fruit, crumpets, eggs as long as they were cooked through, bagels....anything that I would eat for breakfast!!

Aless i just feel so guilty because she was puking quite a bit but i just kicked her out. Last time i seen her she was sat outside on the windowsill meowing to be in and i just shut the blinds and went to bed

She hadn't touched the bowl of food i'd left out for her. That was on Saturday night, and she's never been missing this long, she must have been really ill or has been run over.
  • yay Thanks everyone that will save me a fortune in buying him special breakfasts although the apple porridge one is so yummy might just buy that one still hehe. I tell you my memory is rubbish i just couldnt remember what i used to give the other two it was only 7yrs ago for god sake.

I have given bubs a chip to chomp to glam :-)
Anyways will introduce some eggs this week and up his intake of toast. I would never think to give him marmite as i hate the stuff but i know his dad likes it so will try him with that

  • Elle sorry your OH didn't give you the birthday you deserve. I hope he feels bad and makes it up to you.

Sami fab t shirts - I have quoted your post on pg thread

SS your trip sounds fabulous. And  to that article. Simply crazy. But is it bad that it's made me want to go to Ikea today for a hotdog?! (I promise I will chew it properly)

My little [STRIKE]monster[/STRIKE] treasure has been awake since 6.20 so I am knackered now. I thought newborns were supposed to sleep all the time? He is awake quite a lot more than I expected!

lolly - I bought another 3 packs of cereal yesterday! 3 for £5
Will just make then last for ages!

I prefer Bovril to Marmite so will try Jack with that.

Right, off to clean the oven and dye my hair if I can get Jack to stay down for his nap!
