Erin had a good birthday but has a temp and been up all night, she is still asleep now and im like a zombie! we bought her clothes, shoes and a fisher price pram and doll. although she spent most of the day playing with cat toys??? everyone has been asked to buy her clothes as she has all the toys from christmas and has hardly looked at them!
I usually say to kids they can have a party or a present for their birthdays and i find that this works out best!
Have a busy day today picking up things from all over. am hoping that i can get the house done this morning first and possibly an asda or morrisons trip as my cupboards are bare!
    hope your all well x
What's for you won't go past you
  • Is it very girly? And did somebody already bag it? Who is 1 next? Is it Fergie?

What a good idea. We might have to do this. Although I was thinking of visiting the monkey forest so may just go there with DSS.

Although - having just paid an obscene amount for a 10th birthday party for DSS Go-Karting with 9 of them I would suggest that you put a stop to it at some point (when they want to do expensive stuff!).

Although having said that, DSS has always been told that you only get a party when your birthday is in single figues and then at 'big' birthdays (13, 16, 18, 21) so this year he chose to have a party rather than a gift from his parents.
He asked for money for his birthday from friend and relatives and bought his own gift (a PSP) from that.

The monkey forest looks good, we were hoping to visit the South Lakes Wild Animal Park once the weather improves a little.

Seconded about stopping them at some point, J has always had a party at one of those soft play places the last one cost us just over £200
So its his birthday in a couple of weeks and we have settled on taking a couple of his friends bowling and to Pizza Hut :) Will save us some pennies.

Havnt a clue what to get him for his birthday though he has everything!

I think Im getting this for Lexi http://www.mothercare.com/richContent/B001O9XGLG

AF - don't know what the problem is but get yourself booked in... you can always ask to see a lady doctor if it is the kind of problem where that would make a difference?

DD had a pink Fire engine party and garden party at 12 and I don't think now she'll have another party til 16, theres just nothing for them to do at 13/14/15 yrs.
Shes had bowling/lazer-quest/soft play/cinema disco in the local hall, everything! but when they get a bit bigger everything is 'boring' LOL

SS & Aless Thank you :)
I was always put off by those things but wasn't sure if it was actually like that or just how us brits perceived it.

GISI - Ed fed 2hrly until around 4mths IIRC he's now about 3hrly but if we're out n about or with friends he'll go up to an extra 1 1/2hrs without fuss

    Weezl - I don't remember being helpful but if I was you're welcome :)

any other good letter writers: do you fancy writing a note to my stupid neighbour explaining why putting plates of bread on their grass is a bad idea because grey squirrels and (more importantly) rats are vermin and I have now witnessed both creatures eating their offerings, the latter of which has visited our garden!:mad:

also anyone that uses napisan, have you used it ok soaking colours?
it says its ok on the packet but also mentions bleaching agents :undecided

Edgar's 2nd tooth is almost out and he has started biting - ouchy!!!

  • Thanks for your feeding thoughts folks! It doesn't really bother me, I just wondered whether it was the norm or not!

OMG, birthday parties sound expensive! I must admit I have already been asking people to save the date for Henry's first birthday, but that will just be family and very close friends at our house.

Sami- I soaked a coloured sleepsuit in nappisan yesterday and it has washed up fine. No bleaching as far as I can see.

    Dear Neighbour,

I just wanted to let you know that over the last few days I've seen rats eating the bread you're putting out for the birds.

I think it's lovely that you want to feed the birds over the winter, but I'm a bit worried about the rats in your garden - for you and also because they're starting to come into mine and as you know I have small children who use the garden. I'd like to suggest a hanging birdfeeder or putting the bread up on a table so the rats are discouraged but the birds can still visit freely.

My number is xxx-xxxx if you want to talk about it, or please feel free to drop round between xx and xx time.

Also, I'm considering putting down some rat poison to totally get rid of the unwelcome guests - I'll let you know when in case you want to do the same and so you can keep your dogs/children/whatever out of the way.

    Kind regards,
    Sammy Jo xxx

No, its white with red edging, very unisex, and it's still here waiting to be claimed. PM me, I think my box was full so i've deleted your last PM.

Weezl Thank you for Mr Weezls advice. She had some nurophen last night and it seemed to help. She's not complaining this morning, and the baby tooth is a little big wobbly now. Hopefully it'll fall out soon.

V is being very odd. She has a new game, laying on the floor on her back giggling at nothing in particular. *confused smiley*.

L has huge plans for her 'super sweet 16' party, with limo, chocolate fountain and hiring a huge hall! If only I could block american tv programmes on the freeview. :(
Her's aren't too bad now, bowling and playcentres are sooo last year, now its 5 in total for a sleepover party with popcorn, dvd's, pyjamas and blankets. :)
Her best one was to here http://www.crockytrail.co.uk/index.php. Its just outside Chester and when we went it cost £5 each for however long you want to stay. We took 6 girls armed with picnic boxes and spare clothes and they had a great time. (However, it looks like its caught on and the admission prices have doubled in 18 months ).
