I'd say airing cupboard too. (And I was also wondering what a hot press was.)Okay, you're just not talking Grimsby then!
Airing cupboard, I'd call it, though we don't have one here (no blinking storage in a bungalow - I crave an understairs cupboard!)Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Rhys needs a lesson.. Or rather, I think Rhys stands with support too, but I want your opinion on whether he's doing it right or if I'm making it up!

Becles/Glam/Bruno And anyone else whos commented. My biggest worry about giving up work is that OH will become a lazy B and not do anything!
Fair enough, during the week when he's been at work I don't expect him to come home and cook/iron/clean - but he has to spend some time with the children before he b0ggers off to do his weights/go for a run.
He's started this weekend by being a lazy B so I'm actually not speaking to him, since yesterday afternoon.
I just typed out a huge post but won't bore you with the details. Anyway, he's come home tonight and spent an hour with V before doing his weights, and as we speak he's in the kitchen makinig the bottles.
I might speak to him soon.
I've not seen the orginal postings, so forgive me for not being 100% up with it.
As someone who used to work outside the home and came home and still did more than my partner who stayed at home all day watching TV, I can kind of see your issues. Okay, it's not exactly the same, in fact it's the opposite, but you still have similar issues to what I have - a potentially lazy OH.
As a family man, I don't know how any parent would not want to spend time with his kids before doing his/her own thing.
Now, is there a way he could incorporate sound kind of exercise in the home? I have a small room in the house that has my mini gym and free weights in. Is it possible for him to perhaps find a space to do some weights etc? I try and do a small workout every day, although this isn't always possible and i'm not as young as I once was, naturally. I notice he spent some time with V before his weights, does that mean he has weights at home, or he went out to do them.
One for the future, which I know won't help now, is to try and incorporate his things into your childrens lives. Do you think your son for example would be interested in some sort of gym/exercise work? If he was, would your OH be able/willing to spend some time with him on it?
My 2 eldest learnt self defence a couple of years ago and my next 2 will be doing the same next month.....actually scrap that, this month, it's February - time flies. Partially because I want them to have some kind of ability to defend themselves if something happened and secondly because they wanted to take an interest in some of the exercise things that I have done. I have found that introducing them to my interests, involves them and everybody is happy.
I also understand he, as will you, would want your 'own time', but not at the expense of the kids, yourself and the home.
Sorry if i've misunderstood anything. I've not read fully back as ironically, i'm making an effort to spend time with my girls and Lucy after being sidetracked with school issues for the last 3 weeks
so i'm not keeping up as much and i'm off again now.
Hope you are talking to your OH again soon.
Merry Christmas

HELPPPPPPPP!! I have been kidnapped by a builder called Dave (and a cute little boy called Keiren). Please send out a search party. I am blindfolded but luckily I can touch type.
Bruno - well said! I would never tell my DH what half of the OH's on this thread get away with! It's a partnership you have entered into and they should pull their weight! It drives me mad reading some of the posts on here. Mine cleans the bathrooms and hoovers (although does need to be nagged a bit!). I mostly do washing, cooking and general cleaning/tidying. He can play on the PS3 after everything else has been done and he has spent time with H too (changing nappies/feeding as well as playing!). He doesn't want me to do everything.
Feelie - hope you feel better soon. I have always felt your OH gets a bit of a raw deal on here too, so glad to hear he is good to you most of the time.0 -

Rhys seems to pick up ideas from big Reece though so you might curse me if little Rhys starts crawling, getting into the tv cabinet, climbing the bookcase and starts to eye up the stairs! Let me know in the morning
I didn't realise there was three fires this weekend, I heard one of them was a fatality though - fortunately mum got the kids out the house before they got hurt. Turns out my theory was unfortunately correct and firemen said a few more minutes and they wouldn't have entered the house as too dangerous and the family would have lost the whole house:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009
