anyone done anything they said they never would with LO's??

for me its using a soother. always said i never would but after wasting b/milk to help him sleep i gave in. (i refuse to call it anything else but a soother as well)

Feeding jars, buying expensive dresses, dressing in pink, giving them a tv in their room, letting them play adult video games, giving cereal as dinner.... want me to go on?

If you said it before you gave birth to him it doesn't count because you were young and naive and didnt know any better :p

This was also part of his birthday present IYSWIM - we're gone over his birthday weekend, although I also have some little presents for him too.

Why does there need to be a shingles vaccine when we can just let kids have chicken pox and get natural immunity? I'm not in favour of unnecessary suffering but it does seem to be a bit ridiculous. In general I'm pro-modern medicine but not when it goes so, so far.

I had ten things on my weekend to-do list and nine of them are done. The last one can't be done till tomorrow so this is prime Sitting Time. Hurrah!

I had shingles when 7 (can't remember if I had chicken pox before) and have been told I can still get it.

Used a dummy and a bottle at first, although that feels like a life time ago!

I thought I wouldn't co-sleep, I wanted to but didn't feel it safe because of my weight. Glad I researched it further though!

I've been a bit more relaxed about food than I thought I would be - LO has had the occasional sip of juice, and plain sponge cake.

No, because I don't think I have ever said 'I will never do this or that' I am a see how it is at the time sort of person!!
I may have said I would prefer not to do this or that but find that I feel I have let myself/child down if I put restrictions on things then go back on it iykwim.

btw nothing wrong with using a soother:)

ds1&3 have both had them, in different capacities, ds1 was permanently attached to his, ds3 only really has it if upset or going off to sleep.....(ds2 wouldn't take one at all)

I bought a maclaren triumph on ebay for holiday. The advert specified suitable from 6 months but the maclaren website says from 3 months so I thought it would be ok for E (4 months) but it's not :o, she slips through the shoulder straps. anything I can do?

soothers- i realise now they are fab!! my dislike of them stems from seeing older toddlers with them and those that clip to clothes. or babies that always have a soother in their mouth. K only has his to sleep.

I agree about the older kids with them! A friend of mine still used to give her daughter one when she started school.....she used to take it off her at the gate and give it her back when she came out at the end of day!!!

K has been having his a fair bit last few days as his teeth are really aggrevating him and not much else will settle him:( But I don't mind, I am also a big fan of them and will 'encourage':p baby 4 to have one too
